Did it have a prop shaft attached?

Oh well at least it was only a carbon prop and not a 30 or 40 dollar balanced and sharpened prop

How would you find it if it did?

No, no propshaft attached. the bullet nut spun off somehow (Probly my fault) and I walked away taking it gracefully then I looked back and said "I wonder if plastic floats". It dont. You are correct, only 5.00 lost. Just wanted to let everyone have a laugh at my small expense.

laugh at you, hardly. small chuckle at your comment about them not floating perhaps. there are quite a few boaters who have lost drive hardware...we can sympathize. at least you didn't lose the shaft ;).
