Got a upgraded flex shaft for the Impulse 31 its to long! Can you cut the flex shaft and do you have to do anything to it when its cut?

Using a Dremel with a cut-off wheel, cut the flex cable a bit longer then required, use acid flux which comes in a small bottle with a dripper-tip from the local hardware store, a small butane torch and solder. Heat some solder into a small molten pool, heat the flex end and drip the flux on the cable as you rotate the end in a pool of molten solder, so it soaks up the solder, evenly. Clean and cut to length.
