Considering making prop change not sure what to go after first larger dia. or more pitch. current set-up 40"deep vee, Leopard 5692-730kv,
Hydra Ice 2 12-cell 50 volt max, running 2-5 cells in series, X455 prop, runs middle 50s mph, every thing comes in barely warm. Is it a coin toss or rather just a lot of trial and error to either go for larger dia. or more pitch keeping in mind watching boat temps, if i'm looking for more speed. Which one should i go after first?

I would try more pitch first if they offer the same prop you have now with more pitch.

Large heavy monos won't benefit from increasing the pitch as in your situation. You need more diameter so step up a notch.

Or try a 455-3 blade.

Agreed. Try a larger wheel first.

I'd try a Prather s240. 53.8 diameter and they are 1.5 ptch.Total pitch is 3.3 and your x455 is 3.0. should pick up at least 5-8 mph
