Is it possible to use 12v 12ah
Or 6v 12ah battery on this boat?
Do I need to change anything on this boat to use gel cell battery?

first : i don't have one
but i build /owned enough scale boats to give some advice

aquacraft specs : 2200mah 11.1 lipo recommended

so i guess a 12v 12 ah pb will almost sink that boat ( only about 1 meter)

and a 6 v 12ah will also drop it to deep in the water and won't give want the standard motors want , will be a boring drive with that

why don't you try lipo's with some higher capacity?

Am I understanding that this is to be a "rescue" boat for your faster boats? If so, I'd throw something like this in it. You shouldnt need that much mah for rescue purposes only. you can probably go out 5-6 times with this 5000 mah nimh. Also a decent nimh batt should charge up to 1.35 volts would would give you 10.8 volts on this 8 cell. If you need more mah just get two. Good price .

Would I need to change anything if I use this type of battery on the boat?
Maybe use two of this battery in parallel instead
For a longer run time?

Yes, u can run them parallel for 10,000 mah, or just swap out the batts when first one is depleted.
