MG29 Leopard motor Help me choose Please...

Here's my current setup geico29 , stock 1500 motor, 180a esc, 2 5s 5000mah 40/80c parallel, foam filled nose, blueprinted bottom, offset rudder x442 & x642 s/b and detounged. Running 45/46 mph on garmin gps. Heavy boat.. My question is I need to know what leopard motor to choose with my batteries as I have two sets 40/80c and 50/100c . Looking for more speed and not sure which 4082 to choose?

Thanks for any info on the subject.

The fastest choice for 4S would be the 4074 2000 or 2200kv, but you would need to upgrade the ESC to handle the current.

Thanks Chief , but as listed above I already have a 180a esc and I'm using the 5s batteries that I have.

If you are using 5s it would have to be 2200kv. Eg; 1800kv on 6s (traxxas Spartan) would give the same amount of RPMs as the 2200kv on 5s

Hey 3-UP, you can get a rough idea by shooting for 35,000 RPM with the following calculation: 35000 / (3.7v x 5s) = 1891 kv which puts you closest to the 3.5D wind 4082. Your best prop for speed will be your x642 yielding high 50 mph speeds with probably high temps, so make sure you check your temps in frequent intervals. The x442 will get you high 40s or maybe 50 mph easily for extending runs, in my un-professional opinion. There are many other factors at play here so good luck. I love my MG29V3.

150-180a is very safe. The Turnigy-180 is what I'm using in my DF 29 Mono on 3674 1400kv on 6s. That's with a M445 prop, it runs about 52mph.
