PSFEMBC Race Videos from August 9, 2008

    Hey Gang,

I've uploaded four new videos to my YouTube site from Saturday's Race (Aug. 9, 2008)... Uploading to YouTube really seems to diminish the quality, but they are fun to watch none-the-less.

    Enjoy!

    P-Spec SV27 Hydro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7U-hMkBqibE

    N2-Spec Hydro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5huuQURY8Q

    P-Spec OPC Tunnel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9GhLrzZNMw

I have some pictures to upload as well, so stay tuned for that. Got some nice shots of the people AND the boats this time...

Those little 2S Riggers are pretty interesting... The motor is an AMMO 36-40-3900 on 2S1P and whatever ESC you feel like using... I'm using an uncooled B80 ESC... Brian tried a cheap 40-amp that burnt up... Then switched to a little Schultze controller... Larry is running another Schultze (I think a 70 or 80amp??)... I think Byron might be running a B125 or B80....

Except for Brian's new boat, the rest of the hulls are the same design... with subtle personal differences in angles, layout, etc... For example... Mine is just about 2 1/4" wide inside, while Larry's is closer to 3"... etc...

Getting them tuned is the fun part and makes a TON of difference... Every little component needs to be optimized, but none of it is expensive... and yet, they are easily into the Mid-40s...

Brian thinks he may have his SV27 powered rigger into the upper 50s shortly... Again, the prop tweaking makes up that last 10% it seems...

As these develop, I'll get some more info out there... It's a nice inexpensive and fun way to get people racing riggers in our club again...

It's Brian's design originally... Like his SAW riggers from a couple of years ago, but with oval racing angles... We're still playing with AoA, etc. It's going to take some racing to get it figured out... Well... for everyone except maybe Brian... He just showed up and started kicking our butts right out of the chute!

                sanction

How do ya'll get sanctioned on that lake lake with other potential activity ie: 1:1 boat traffic / swimmers etc.. we are trying to address that issue on my lake??
Boats don't win races, drivers do.

I was thinking something along those lines, with that many homes its really cool. Someone would surely start to whine out here.
