I was just surfing TowerHobbies, it looks like the RTR is no longer available?
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=SM&I=LXBXEP**
I find it strange that the SV27R is still available...
Is there something new that we don't know? :w00t: :spy:

That seems a little odd. I was under the impression that it was a well recieved boat. I love mine!

As someone who just bought the last silver & red Revolt 30 on the interwebs, I have a suspicion that something is going on. I have been watching them on tower hobbies for several months, expecting a sale due to the summer. Well they did have a sale, but the silver, red, blue all were eliminated from inventory. RC Planet, amain, etc didn't have any. I got my silver one here at OSE. All OSE has left is a ugly white one now. I agree it is strange for such a hot seller to be discontinued. I feel like proboat & aquacraft like rolling out new models in late summer/early fall; so selling out inventory in the spring makes sense.

I too have the silver one, and love it! My guess is a new graphics scheme with 6s capable ESC to compete with proboat.

ok so i read this last night thinking it was a fluke and everyone was out of stock. Looks like the Revolt 30 is being discontinued. The central warehouse has rx-r version but the rtr is showing discontinued in both warehouses and the rtr shows discontinued for the west coast. I sold two over the past two months, guess it wasn't enough. Sad to see it go it was a solid boat, i would have thought the sv27 would go before the revolt.

I just got off the phone with AQ, The Revolt will be re-introduced as follows:

1) In its current RTR state but with a 6S compatible controller
2) Also a lager version of 33" and slightly wider will be released with a 2000KV motor similar in size to a Leopard 4082. This will make it more suitable for true "P" mono racing.
3) A 39" version will be released without a motor to fit on the "Q" class.

Its going to be great...hopefully they will be out before the snow flies.....

Very cool. Thee most popular RTR at our races this year. Guys run it in Novice, RTR and the P-Mono class.

I don't get it. What's so mysterious here? It's aqua craft, obviously they're working on something.....It's what they do. How it relates to the revolt rtr being discontinued is beyond me...
If I had to guess, they figured why offer rtr when 95% of people have a radio they use for all their boats. So they stopped offering it with radio included.

tower is showing a rxr version discontinued now.

Most likely something is in the works, meanwhile the bean counters realized that the RTR version is not making enough profit. The Tactic radio did go up in price but I don't think the RTR 's price reflected that.
Now it is my turn to borrow the disclaimer " I may be wrong" !!!:lol::lol:

So, is there any new news on this? It seems like the Revolt 30 was well regarded and sold well. I have a hard time imagining AquaCraft has discontinued it without plans for a new/revised model. Perhaps there will be very light revision, with new decals or some such.

Actually, anything 33 to 36 inches or so and designed to run 6S would be great to see.

Or you could just build a DF33 or a Cyberstorm and the hull will last for years compared to a few seasons.

Maybe AQ will come out with a decent hydroplane or cat, lol... I'm yankin' yer chain guys...:sarcasm1:

Yeah, I'm actually planning to build a 36-inch Ariane hull, but the performance/price ratio was so good on my Revolt 30 that I'd like to see what AQ would do in a 33- to 36-inch size.

The Revolt 30 has been removed from Aquacraft's web site. (It was there recently, even after Tower was saying it was discontinued.) It seems from the outside like the Revolt was a successful model; when I was researching 30-inch-ish monos, every every thread I found at OSE and elsewhere recommended the Revolt. I can only assume a new version is in the works.

As you can tell from the thread I started, I'm now planning to build up a DF 33 or Cyber Storm 33, since that will be learning opportunity at let me reuse on extra Revolt motor I have.

The thing that sucked about the Revolt was the fact we had to put tape on it for every run to hold the canopy on. Crapppy!!! I wish they implemented a pin like the revolt has to keep on the top in the new one. If they don't, I won't be buying it.

Definately not the right hobby for ya if you bitch about having to tape the hatch down. Cuz, you know, those pinned hatches are so reliable:olleyes:

The Revolt did for the rc boating hobby what the Slash did for RC cars. It brought a fast, reliable, affordable platform to market, to get people to take the leap into FE RC boats. And it worked. I'm hoping for a Revolt V2 in kit form, direct from Aquacraft!

Proboat Impulse 31 v2 was one option I was considering, but would rather not have to deal with extra electronics I don't really need. It does appear to be priced a little on the higher side.

I decided to visit and perform a search for "Revolt 30" on the good old Google search and it was interesting to see Tower Hobbies has the RTR listed for "$349, (estimated) Late April" for availability, which I don't recall seeing previously. Not sure how their site is updated or if information was supplied to them from Aquacraft.

It could be nothing, or it could be something...

They did the same thing with the Rio EP...

Right after the Wildcat (full size) came out the Rio was disco'ed (still shows that on the manuals download page) - 3~4 months later it was re-continued. Let's see... slow sales, disco it to drum up interest, then re-release it??

Why not make improvements to Revolt (like.. dump the cheapo plastic batt tray) then re-release it as version-2 like PB does with some of they're models.

Just a thought...

I can't help but wonder if warranty costs hurt the bottom line on the Revolt. I think the flex shaft failed on every single one, which isn't so bad in itself, except for replacing nice Grim props at $25-30 retail. That had to hurt. But they stood behind their product and I supported them by buying another AQ boat.

I was shocked to see that my LHS had just received a brand new RTR Revolt 30 from their main distributor. As most of you know they were discontinued last summer supposedly never to return, but now they seem to be back in stock at various locations.

Needless to say a shiny new blue and white Revolt 30 followed me home :w00t:

Upon inspection the only notable difference between it and the two I purchased last summer is that the new one came with a more updated Tactic radio system. Everything else is essentially the same as what was previously being offered motor, hardware, color schemes etc.

I really really like the design and handling of this boat and for anyone who is just starting out in serious FE boating I would highly recommend one of these to get your feet wet.

Cheers, have a great summer and happy racing!

The OSE shaft is good too. I'm still running the stock collet on both of my Aquacraft boats though....never once have I had an issue with them. No slippage or breakage here.

I'm also proud to say that my Revolt was able to grab a second place in the 2nd heat of my very first boat race.

Agreed. The collet and shaft were laughable and a deserved chink in Grimm's Armor. But they stepped right up and replaced the (crap) shaft and the nice prop. Despite the frustration, that's pretty darn good CS.
