    Dumas Typhoon

I am looking at getting my first "Scale" boat. The Dumas Typhoon looks about up my alley. Anyone have experiance with the Dumas company and thoughts about this model?

    Thanks!

This build by Pat Tritle should tell you all you need to know.
Dumas are a well established company for scale boat kits.

See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I have no idea about that particular model but the Dumas kits I built years ago were pretty crude with poor die cuts and heavy, marginal wood. Best ask a few who have actually built that model recently.

Not sure about the typhoon. But I have built a few Dumas kits over the years and have had good luck with them. I did have 1 broken piece in one kit. A long piece that needed to be in one piece and not just joined together and glued on.This would show. A quick call to them and they sent me 2 of these pieces and a few more other pieces at their cost. I found them to be helpful and customer friendly. Maybe things have changed. Or maybe just poor quality mahogany now.
