You should put bullet nuts on the shafts. With that kinda speed, and drag reduction helps. I bet it would break sixty.

Congratulations on your new speed, that is outstanding!! :rockon2: put my boat back together I only ever managed to get 47 mph. I then blew it up again and have now put everything back to stock, still runs between 39-44 mph depending on which prop I throw on. But it no longer blows up.

Once you find some glassy water and play with the struts, maybe throw on a set of sharpened and balanced copper beryllium props you might hit 70.

animigan

And I hear you'll hit 80mph if you take the stickers off. Even I know that and I've been RC boating for only two weeks now...

excellent job but I thought we were told the BJ hull is not capable of those speeds! In your last video, you did 3 different props but I only caught the last 2, the 642 and 442. The 442 did 5 mph better than the 642. This reminds me of my big boat that came with a 22 pitch prop and the 4.3 v6 would turn 4200 RPM and do 44 mph but would not get me out of the water on a single until 200 feet( 6 feet , 200lb). I thought that I need to prop down and take the hit on top end to get the hole shot. Slapped on a 19 pitch and got the pull needed and the motor now turns 4700 RPM and does 48 MPH, A win win situation. Thanks for your testing and I,m going to try a 4 series pitch on my BJ26 and increase diameter as needed. Excellent job on that boat and a nice looking lake!

Nice job, didnt think that the BJ26 hull was good for more than mid 60's, but guess i was wrong :P

i was wandering ,why did you remove the drivers Canopy ???

I bet you that the Canopy's have been cracked when he was flipping the boat. I blew over at mid 40's and cracked one canopy, later the same week i blew over again and the second was gone.

09-20-2009, 07:37 PM
ok true :) i didnt know if it was due to weight or drag? but bet you are right

mudl
09-21-2009, 12:57 PM
Hello

thanks for the gratulations.
Cannopy's are broken by a turn over.
I will try to reduce the weight of the boat to drive much faster. At the moment the boat is at 3200 gramms ready to run.And i think its to much.Maybe i can beat 80 mph

What kind of water intakes are you using? Cant see any on the pics.
Also replace the RX battery pack with a Castle Bec, only what will shed of around 100g.

post #2, the last picture of the bottom of the hull. You can see the 2 pickup tubes near the transom. He has them mounted to the bottom of the boat.

Ok forgive such a noob question. The shafts come out of a part called the strut correct? What brand of struts are on this boat? I have a bj26 I am rebuilding and have decided to go for twins....eh why not right?

How does this type of strut work with a stuffing tube? How does it exit the hull?

I know you guys are probably cracking up at my lack of a clue, but hey how else am I gonna learn this stuff! hahahaha

This thing is an inspiration.

Thanks Guys!

I have no idea what motor to use. But I sure like those two struts. reasonable price as well.

Do you guys have any motor and esc suggestions that are close to what he used on that twin he built?

The more I look at it the more I WANT ONE!

how does the stuffing tube work with this kind of strut? Does anyone have a picture of how the stuffing tube and strut come together, or does the shaft just come through where the strut bolts tot he stern?

Guys seriously I am sorry for all the dumb questions, I am just wanting to learn all I can!

Thanks for the help guys!

electronics dont have to be expensive to be good, we have 50.00 esc's that perform better than the 240.00 units also.

I just bought a bj26 and finally got it to the water and i have to say i was kinda disappointed with the performance of the thing out of the box. I havnt gotten to run it yet with the lipos but with 4500 stick packs its not too fast. This thing however is a friggen monster! It has def inspired me to keep it and see what i can do with it.

im obviously new at this so dont laugh TOO much but would it be a bad idea to run two stock motors and esc's? jus curious

Hello

i think the original motors and escs works very well with 4 s lipos and Props about
42-45 mm.I think that you need only a singel pack 4 s Lipos for both motors.(i drive in my BJ 26 also only one pack for two engines)
