Hi Guys n Gals,
I've been running some boats with a friend of mine recently, we have between us, A Genesis (4/5s), Smash Shark (3/4s), Pursuit (3s!!!), Popeye hydro (4s), R2 Sea arrow rigger (4s) and a small R2 self righting mono hull of some sort (2s). We have run the last 2 weekends and plan to run again next weekend coming.
Hope you enjoy the footage. They are running quite long, at around 14minutes and 7mins.

This is from this weekend (Sat the 8th of Feb)

Hi,

Are these the TFL or HobbKing Pursuit, Smash Shark boats? I'm considering another deep-v boat, either the Pursuit or the Smash Shark. Can you comment on how the two boats compare in performance and handling, have they been upgraded, battery sizes, placement, etc?

Pete

The hobbyking smash shark has upgrades for strength and better cooling, and the one piece drive line swap. its otherwise stock on 4s.

the pursuit I got second hand NFI where it came from. its got a 3s set up in it that I designed, still testing not saying much as its keeping up with 4s boats....

Id get the pursuit, it seems to handle better, which u can see in the videos.

The pursuit will handle much better & be faster as its more a race type hull than the Smash Shark.

Do the steps on the chines (Smash Shark) provide any noticeable benefit on rc deep-v boats?

I have A Smash Shark built up for 4S racing this year and in pre season testing it's every bit as fast as the Pursuit if not quicker.

Out of the box it needs a bigger rudder and better turn fins. I added trim tabs as well but it's all the same as the Pursuit. It certainly doesn't lack in speed or handling and looks like a race boat. The steps in the chines don't seem to do anything unless it makes it quicker in a straight line because mine is a rocket against race hulls with the same running gear.

Some Discussion on the Smash Shark here.

Adjusted the strut angle and propped it up to a x642.
