Steve recently got some Swordfish controllers in stock. What's the word on the Pro 200 and 220 controllers? I'm debating trying one out for a P-Mono heat racer. Anyone have any input??

Got a couple 220's, seem great so far. Watch the hard start setting. If you go to putter in it can jump.

I bought two of the early 220's from KBR and for whatever reason they would cut out similar to when you hit low volts on "D" winds. No problem with "Y" motors. Other than that I have had good results with SF200 esc's. 300a not so much.

I've got 220 pro pluses in three of my boats and all run great Y and D wind motors. I've also got a pair of 200 pro pluses for a Cheetah twin build I'm doing, haven't run those yet but I'm sure those will work fine too.

What do you have the LVC set at? and what is the rest of the setup on the boat? KV, Prop, size of boat, batteries, ETC.?

Everybody is different but I set my LVC @ 3.0 volts. What kind of temps is it running? That might be a little too much prop for that setup try backing up to a 44 or 45mm prop and see if it still does it

the temp seemed normal i will try backing off the prop thank you

Dennis,

I am running a SF220+ with data logging and 4s in a few different boats.
Had a few instances were the boat stopped during testing. I checked the amount of amps and it was as high as 280. This controller is only rated for 220 amps continuous. I had way too much prop.
When I propped down everything was good.

Check it out

would it do that even out of the water?

It shouldn't do it out of the water because there's no load on it, if it's doing it out of the water you got other issuses

What kind of experience are people having racing these? Guys have them in our club. I've never really checked them out though.

Be careful with the LVC on good cells. I set mine at 3v too but my GP packs and even some of my oldest Hyperians will deliver 3 volts until the tank is stone empty.

I ditched the LVC cut off with my seaking escs now they're fine. With high quality packs like dinogy I didn't have a problem but with my zippy packs I was hitting lvc.

Is the timing adjustable in 1 degree increments on these?

The newer versions that I have (after 12/4/12) are adjustable in 2 deg. increments. I'm sure everything you'd get new will be this way, I've got 6 or so boats with these in them and have had zero problems out of any of them.
