hey guys,i have a 56" aeromarine apache with a leopard 5698 motor.i will be using a 300amp swordfish ecs.I was told to use a 10s 5000mah pack.when I was checking out hardware for this boat,it was suggested that I use (2) 10s 5000mah packs wired parallel to get 10000mah.i was told the single 5000 pack could damage either the esc,the motor,or both. would (2) 5s 5000mah packs wired parallel work in this boat?any help would be greatly appreciated.thank you v

In my opinion you need a series/ parallel setup.

Two 5s in series for your 10s, on either side, then run each side parallel.

heaving earth, thank you for responding.so your saying (4) batteries.(2)5s 5000's on left side series, and(2) 5000,s on right side series. thows 2 groups parallel.wouldn't that give me 20000mah? john

No prob john.
It will still be 10000 mah

Your two 5s 5000 mah on each side series, will be double voltage not mah, so your 10s will still only be 5000 mah

Then when you parallel, is when the mah doubles and you get your 10000 mah

Yw

You could run on just two packs, but it won't last long and the packs will heat up fast.
Better to run parallel in a big boat like that

Or you could run a pair of these.
