I am shocked that you have control past 150 yards. The basic Tactic radio with no external receiver antenna is not designed for long range. If you want longer range you will need a better radio.

You sure about that 200 yards? Seems like that's out of site at that point. Would be more than enough for me....

i lost range last week. we guessed it to be 200 yards. maybe it was 175, but we could see it . we want to use the whole lake for fast passes but kept losing range. whats the range limit of tactic 2.4? if i want more what do i try next without breaking the bank. thanks

Which antenna are you referring? The one on the Tx or the one inside the Rx? I know in most cases on the Rx only the last 1 or 1.5 inch counts, ( where you see the coaxial cable) . Don't think you can alter the internal antenna on the Tactic TR324. But you did not say which receiver you are using.
Tactic is very good for whatever intended purpose it serves, but range is not the longest and although AquaCraft should be praised for having confidence in using Tactic radio , I think you can look elsewhere without breaking your bank for longer range radio.
Luckily I will never have your problem because I am so extremely near sighted, most radios have too long of a range for me already! :o

You would need a 2.4 ghz signal booster. Still need line of site though, if you lose that you are gonna lose reception on any radio. Something like http://www.rangevideo.com/index.php/sunhans-2w-2-4ghz-wifi-frsky-long-range-booster.html

is the signal booster going to attach to the tactic transmitter?

You would have to open up the tx most likely. A friend of mine had one hooked up to airtronics rds 8000 stick radio to fly FPV but that's about all I know about them. Try searching around the FPV forums and they can probably steer you in the right direction.
