Getting a 2215/1.5y and 8s2p.

That strut is a 1/4" stainless steel roller bearing setup. Can't wait to see how that performs.

So are we going to be racing against each other...Carretero vs Blade???

We'll have to draft each other around the course like NASCAR!

T.S.Davis
10-23-2013, 12:35 PM
If you can keep up. Neu power! haha. I would have went for the Blade if I didn't have this. The Blade has great lines.

They make a boat that's even bigger. Patron Saint I think. Too much boat for FE I think.

TFL makes these for a client. They don't actually sell them through distributors. Only their client can sell them and that client has expressed no interest in selling here. That's my understanding at least. I don't believe their client has put any on the water yet either.

They could sell them here but it would have to be changed somehow. Like longer shorter etc.

Aren't you running offshore with the Blade? I may be running the Outrage in offshore and this in T mono.

That's true...T-Mono was full....

You could get in if you wanted. Get on the list.

Not sure how much trouble you are having measuring your boat but there are guidelines in the NAMBA rule book, You will also find the length limits for each class there to see which class it will fit in.
I am all about the helping you know.

hehe Jeff ya tool.

It's a touch shy of 40". I'm throwing 8s in it which makes it no longer a Q boat. Should be a handful running through the holes Haines cuts in a lake. It might even be simply not enough boat fr this setup. Might have to drop back to 6s. Got a 2215 for that too.

Now that's not fair at all,..... you show us a boat that we can't get!!!

Is that a Castle esc or another surprise?

Terry, I could make some go/no go gauges for the nats for the class lengths. I haven't seen so much confusion in finding out lengths of boats in peoples posession since the whole H&M viper length issues 10 years ago. I would also be willing to bring a 4 foot 2x12 that we could put by the drivers stand and at the start of N-1 heats we could put paint on it to see which is faster.

Yuk it up, but you guys are still running "Spec SV27", right?? Pffft... My N1 Mono is faster... :tt2: And, it'll stay upright for an entire heat... :tiphat:

Nice looking Teaser, Terry... Rub it in a little, why don't you?!

Darin, you shouldn't have to use a calander to time a heat in any class.

T.S.Davis

Jeff, I've not heard a single person confused about lengths.

Darin, you're running mid 40's in N1? Nice. I should run out and buy one.

I suggest you run out and buy your son or daughter a T-Mono instead... :tongue_smilie:

Darin, he already asked me if he could run it. Wants to run the 1/8 scale too. He tried to get Pete to let him run his Q sport a number of times.

Ray, that's the old style Castle 240HV. They were giving them away about a month ago so I grabbed a couple of them.

Wetter, some of us are a'holes but we are an entertaining lot aint we? We're just as stupid in person. It's what makes these races so fun I think.

Speaking of gigondous' motors. Look how much beef this one will be carrying.

Terry. Where did you get that motor mount?

T.S.Davis
11-01-2013, 11:33 AM
That's an old Fightercat mount for a 2230. It was way too long for a 2215 so I made new mount rails for it from scratch. Did all the drilling and tapping accordingly. Major league pain the behind.

It's just laying in those slots right now until I get the stuffing tube lined up.

I think I'll make some supports to tie those rails to the gunwale. Sort of a ladder effect. Then maybe some two part foam. This will have gobs of power. It may tear the rails loose from the hull if I don't add some structure.

rickwess
11-01-2013, 11:48 AM
Thanks.

Makes sense about the extra support, especially given the rails end right at the back of the mount.

107543107544It's about done. Needs fins. Still have to put some latched on the lid. Still debating how to do that.

Well Terry adding structure is a good idea,if its from the same place as mine was.

She is good for running far over 60.

That's encouraging. I was concerned with lower strakes coming so close to the trans that it would ride too high in the water.

I've got rails, the tray, and the motor mount tied together and that ladder is tied to the transome so hopefully there is enough structure.

Terry she runs marveless , it was one of the best handling Monos in that size i had,in chop and glass water. COG is between 27-29% depends on the water.
My setup was T600/1400 with 6S2P5800mah no Trimm and Turnfin Stinger parallel to waterline as long you don´t want to run Oval you don´t need them.
Top of the line was a Prather 245 but then the Motor got quite hot , the Hull ran stable evan by choppy water.
A friend of mine had some hard impcts by blowoffs and the hull didn´t like that.So if you want long time fun stay at about 55 and avoid rhe blowoffs.
All only if it comes from the same place mine came from.

Did finally get this baby wet. Runs really smooth. Might need more fin on the right side. Haven't quite figured out the prop situation yet either. Needs big 2 blade that I just don't have. Like maybe 462 sized. I can't even warm the batteries up with the props I own.

Sure looks sweet in the water though.

Terry,

What SHAPE are the current turn-fins. If they are tear-drop shaped (seems to be the rage these days), try something more like this:

ProBoat Impulse 31 V1 & V2 Turn Fins by OSE
http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ose-1400

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/prodimages/ose-1400_medium.jpg

I assure you, it WILL be better, especially in real race water...

T.S.Davis
05-05-2014, 09:56 AM
Maybe. I suspect it's a size thing though. I try to use the smallest fins I can get away with but this things weights a bunch with 8s12000mah.

Size matters, but surface area counts as size... :) The difference between finishing a P-Ltd Mono or Offshore race with an IM31 is these fins over the stock teardrops, and these aren't as deep... The boat is a full-throttle pin it in the corner boat with these. It's rolled over upside down with the stock ones...

Hey, I'm just here to help! :hug1:

I have a number of fins I need to invent. My Q sport absolutely can not hold a turn. I do have a plan for that at least.

I nice sheet of fin on this would be easy enough to do.

I tried a set of small Speedmaster's cut down for my P-mono and it turned like crap... not the fins problem just the rest of my setup didn't like them... Pond time... there is never enough.
