Haven't been on this forum for around 2 years and plan on using it alot more now again, anyway had my geico nearly around 2.5 years now and have always ran it on 5s with a m445 and has always done 46-47.5 mph. However I have decided now i want to get over that 50mph barrier and was just wondering how I can achieve this. I can run any lipo set up upto 6s as I already have a load of lipos. I was thinking maybe keeping the stock motor and changing the esc and running 6s? opinions on this? what esc and what settings etc?
Thanks

Do some research here, it is a wealth of helpful info. I run the same setup as you stock motor and both X642 and M445 props, but I have upgraded my esc to 120 and 180 Seakings. I am happy with the 46 to 47 mph I get with this setup. I have played with the Tacon 4 pole 1700 kv, 3674 but it was hard to keep in the water as when I tried it was windy and rough water. Most running in the 50's have upgraded the motor and esc, motors are 4074's on 2000 and 2200 kv, some even bigger motors. The most popular affordable esc seems to be the Seaking 180. Props are going to depend on motor/# of cells combo.
