Hello,

I was wanting to set up a 1/8 scale hydroplane to turn left and wanted a reliable setup that I can count on so I don't need to break any speed records plus this is not to race in any club. I need help with esc, motor, right hand prop suggestions. I also was going to use 8s setup or any other input would help thanks for looking. :roflol:

To be clear, you want to run counterclockwise ovals, right? What hull do you have? What are your speed and run time goals? What is your budget?

Correct I'm going to run counterclockwise and was going to order rc boat company hull T-6. I wanted a little more run time than speed (45mph to 50mph) and budget is open. Thanks for replying

Something to think about is finding a turn fin that is cuped on the right side and you may have to reshape the bottoms of the sponsons to get the boat to slide in turns unless the company will mold the hull for counter clockwise running.

Thanks for the details

Should I use 1 or 2 packs

Dont know if a single pack will fit in your boat. My guess is two would work better for weight distribution

2 5000 mha 5S packs in series so 5000 mha of 10S. I only ran a mill lap plus 6 lap heat on a 1/6 mile course. Used about 3200-3500 mha.

Here is a video of the boat running that motor:

get 2 5S 6000mah Dinogy packs, the scorpion motor works great, you will get better run times and lower temps w/ the 65C dinogy batteries, and they're only a few bucks more than the cheaper ones. Yes these hulls are made to run clockwise so the L and R sponsons usually are different.

I had 25C packs and ended up flaming them up. I would recommend going to higher C rating. I am becoming a fan of the Dinogy batteries myself. Take Mr. Pags advice!
