Here's the build so far, Motors mounted, Servo mounted, Carbon fiber battery trays installed, and the Stingers I'm going to use. I'm making some Delrin mounting blocks for the Stingers, should work out pretty good! 105342105343105344105345105346

I'll be following too, I have been curious of how this boat is to set up. And will be looking forward to some running video.

I got the Delrin stinger blocks done and bonded to the hull last night. I left the original stuff tubes in the hull and went off of them for cutting my stinger blocks I had to cut them down and remove the bushings that came in them for the solid shafts it came with. These tubes are larger and I can put my 1/4" stuff tubes inside them for the flex cables, it worked out pretty slick! For those who are wondering about the canted stingers, here's my thinking. Doing them canted I can get two plains of adjustment at the same time and if this hull works the way I think it will this might come in handy. If it doesn't work I'll make two new stinger blocks and mount them strait. Here's some more pics, enjoy!105543105544105545105546105547

I was more surprised by the twin rudders, I don't have a boat with this layout but I would have guessed that if it had an advantage it would be that you don't need a rudder.

It came with the rudders already mounted, and I don't think the steering would be as responsive if it was steered by thrust vectoring as opposed to rudders. Also the video I've seen of this boat running, the rudders seem to help with lift in the rear of the boat.

Yeah, Ken's got one but that guy has FAR too many projects lol!
He has more boats than I've ever seen anyone have even a manufactuer.
The man has gotta have at least 150-200 boats..

he buys EVERYTHING that even strikes his attention. He buys parts in bulk..

Lots of progress on the Sober, I spun it up for the first time tonight, everything seems like it's going to work good. I'll have more pics up tomorrow!

I'm back from my little vacation so I'll have lots of update pics and info. I did run it and still getting it dialed in, first run it blew over at 52mph! The nose was way high because the stingers were adjusted down too far and batteries were too far back. Second run was better but still nose too high but no blow over 58mph and scary (thought it was going over) I've adjusted some more but haven't run it a third time. I will get video on the third run.

Yes, I'm looking forward to see it run also. I'm always interested in the not so conventional projects. I would think it should be a pretty stable ride :).

So far so good, I'm still getting it dialed in but everything I've done so far has made it better. One thing I can tell you is it adjusts totally backasswards from what you'd think!:lol:
