hot battery

Running a stock Revolt 30 with a detounged sharpened and balanced stock prop.
ESC Temp low 100s
Motor temp low 90s
Grimm racer 4200mah 14.8v 30c Lipo temp 124-135 after a 10min run.http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/images/smilies/flammes-09.gif
I removed the y connector to a single deans connector since I'm just one battery.
Esc is running around 110 now
Motor still in the low 90s
Battery in the high 120s ( after 5min only at middle 90) that is a7 to 9 min run.
Also have a GForce elite 4000mah 30c 14.8v. Temp runs in the 1teens 7 to 9 min run.
The question is, is the temp for the batteries to high? I do not want set the boat on fire it is my first and only so far.

There is nothing wrong with that setup. Running for 10 minutes is a long time, particularly in ambient temps above 100*F. The max temp for good quality cells is 140*F if you don't want to damage them. Keeping them under that is a good idea.

It was not that hot this morning, it was only in the low 80s. I'm trying not to cook myself or the rc toys so I play in the morning. The battery wire are a lot thicker then the ESC and motor wires or maybe the deans connector. So your saying not to run the battery for to long in hot weather and 120 - 130 is ok. I thought maybe it had something to do with the wires. Thanks for the help.

You can water cool the motor and ESC but the packs are on their own. The longer they run the hotter they get. 120* to 130* is fine for decent quality cells, let the temps dictate how long you run with a particular setup. In the winter the ending temps will be cooler because the cells start off cooler.
