Swordfish or seaking?

Looking for a 120a speedo for my revolt. Going to be running 4s with a Leo 3674.

What's the better speedo? They're not much difference in price but I haven't used either one, so I'd like to hear some feedback.

Get a 150 or 180. The revilt runs great on 5s 1p with rigjt prop.

I'm going to have too much kv(2200) to run 5s, and I also have a ton of 4s bricks that I currently use. Not really looking to switch to 5s.

I have not had great success with seaking. Having said that Steve thinks they are a good value. I like the 200 and 240 castle hydra ice escs. Great for tuning with castle link and you can always use them for a more powerful set up in another boat. Lots of people like the etii as well. Although the hydra ice escs are expensive, if they fail castle is great about.
Replacing them for free. With seaking, good luck.

I already own a high voltage esc for my genesis. I am only looking for something to run my 3674 Leo assuming the stock revolt esc will probably not like that motor at all.

Between the swordfish and seaking, can you suggest one?

Personally I would want more than a 120, just to be safe. That motor can still pull some amps, especially with props bigger than 42mm.

I would go for the Swordfish, having said that i've got some 120a seaking in my twin genesis, and no problems at all. But SF got a bigger range of esc's and in the future if your going bigger you can use the same program box on both boats. But you can't go wrong with either of them.

Btw for 30 bucks more you'll get the SF220a 2-6, that one is only 8mm longer and 11mm wider than the 120a:-)

You're talking more than double the price. For sport running, I'd rather take my chances with the SF or SK 120. If the SF220 was in stock I'd go with that.

I know some have got away with the 3674 on a 120a, personally I would go higher 180a - 220a depending on make.

The Leo 3674 2200kv has a max load of 90A so 120a should do it, but ask when the SF220 will be in stock again;) Bets solution is to go a little bit higher;-)

:iagree: If it is not that much trouble to fit the SK 180 into the Revolt 30, I think it's your best choice given its track record and price point. I will feel a bit short changed if I run this set up with the SK120 although that is one of my favorite ESCs, never had trouble and I consider them throw-away items , now it's more expensive but still a great value.

Seaking 180

I am 5/5 with my Seaking 180 and I have had zero issues with them. Full disclosure, I soldered on 6 extra stiffening capacitors for the sake of insurance. All my boats run 4s and the largest prop I run on any of my boats is an Octura x642. My latest build, an HK Outerlimits SV43, has a Leo 4074 2200kv motor, Octura M440 SBP prop and the Seaking 180 and it just rips. The warmest temp I have ever measured on the motor or ESC was 101 degrees F. It is a very solid, fun, and conservative setup.

A motors rated amps means next to nothing when choosing an esc.

I got the hobby king 120a. If it runs warm ill cram my 180a in there
