first scratch build hehehe this is a boredom build for me lol,I stripped a rico 31 that I didn't like and used the guts to rebuild a df cyberstorm in green....Yes I know ewww green lol.Motor is a neu 1521 1.5d,esc is a sk 180,props will be x447/3 x450/2 and a prather s245 ish. Lipos are nanotech 4s2p 130c 5000mah, All hardware is speedmaster polished up with ose fins. Rails were handmade from birch ply and will be sealed off and placed on a carbon fiber inlay in the hull...if it ever shows up from kintec that is....I used associated thumbscrews w stainless studs and rubber washers for the hatch and a pinned front which was also double layered w fiberglass for integrity.I also will be trimming the usual 18mm off the stinger to achieve better handling etc.Lets see how she runs when I finish...

Looking nice there,:tiphat:
Also do not forget the flotation for the hatch.
I got lucky today when my hatch flew off and landed in the pond upside down,:tongue_smilie:
And than I said *!***!***!***!** there is no flotation in it.
Than the wind blow it a shore to me.

ya its tedious work to stuff all those electronics in a hull, This is my first set of rails and likely the last as they suck up so much room in the hull, I am agreeing with another member when he said to just use a normal mount instead of the cnc one I already have.....makes life easier and better to adjust cog. Next time its a carbon mount and done lol. My other df is a minimalist style setup using just an etti mount with carbon battery trays jb welded down, Thing hauls tho even without a carbon reinforced floor and such bracing involved. Damn hindsight lolz

build is on hold due to a nightmare with kintec racing order, never ever again will I order from there......Im going to turn this horrible time good though and take mikepags advice and not use rails though.I have a new cf mount for the neu and two carbon trays that I will use for the lipos...better cog overall.

Yah not bad for a rush job,I wanted it done for my vacation at the cottage last week. Odd though on the maiden dunk I had major radio issues Im praying it has nothing to do with the carbon fiber in the boat hmmm, gonna try a new rx maybe before investigating...couldn't get the boat 30 ft. from me w out glitching etc.

Looks pretty good to me! The inlay looks clean, what did you use to hold down the servo mount?
Suspending the RX above the floor is a nice idea also.
You may have inspired me to go green on my next build, I like it!

servo mount is 2 ton epoxy...not goin anywhere soon lol.I wanted the rec up.... just in the maybe event of water intake accidentally and it keeps the floor cleaner, It was also done to move the rec. closer to transom ant mount as futaba has short ant. lead lol. I also will be making a cf mount for the esc after a few more runs and figuring radio issues.

Inlay went ok I used those sponge style brushes to apply a tack coat on hull, masked edges of the carbon then cut to size and pushed in slowly. I soaked the cloth then squeezed out the excess resin to the point of semi dry. I also sanded the hull with rough grit sandpaper on the bottom to create a bit of extra grab for the inlay process. I was in a rush and lazy a bit and skipped the step of using the 3m 77 spray glue to tack it down so I just waited a few sec until the resin started to dry but I will use the spray in my next inlay likely lol (same time for resin to setup as spraying it).I also used the trick of ca'ing some thin black rods underneath the motor to dam the flow of epoxy when applying to mount.....worked out well keeping epoxy in place instead of on floor of vee from running while wet.

Do you have a Tactic Tx & Rx 2.4ghz you could try in it ?
May be that would work better in the CF hull now.
