Hi,:tiphat:
I was looking at a Mr. Darby Tug today.
And it looked very cool and scale and in good shape,
But I know nothing about them.
The guy said it runs on a 12v car battery.
It looks just like this one.

Does any buddy have any info about them,
And how much they go for used or new ?

Thanks for any input.

If its built properly, than its one of the best tugs ever made.....how much is he asking?

I told me he wanted 450.00,
But would let me have it 400.00 with the stand that he built for it.
So I said let me think on it over night,
Than he said make him an offer for it because he needs to move it.
I told him I was not sure what I was going to do with it,
And would call him tomorrow if I wanted it and to make an offer on it.

I forget about prices but I think that for a well built Darby that price is cheep.

the current generation of Mr. Darby is sold new by Harbor Models, the complete kit of hull, deck, superstructure, running hardware runs from $1200+ depending on what type of running hardware you want. that does not include speed controls or radio.

Will hears a heads up,
I went to look at the tug today and it has be sitting for 4 years in a shed and has not been run.
It looks a little weak,
And the paint is beginning to bubble and peel on some of the deck area and looks better in the picture I posted than in person,
The hull looked solid to me but the whole boat just looks like it is in need of some tlc.
There are two big brushed motors in it and they turn by hand smoothly and has u joint to the drive shafts that connect to the props.
It also has the esc and a big servo for the rudders,
He does not have a tx/rx for it or a 12v battery for it,
So I could not try anything to see if it worked.

Pictures of it and motor kit that in it.

So did you get it Lenny? After looking into it, I think that is a steal, to me the paint and cosmetics can be made to look like an old working boat that's been around for a while. Just adding more scale look to it. I don't think motors or esc will be hard to find if you were looking for new. As long as it has the rudders, prop, shaft ect,,, that's the specialized stuff. Aww just get it so I can buy it from you later :)

Hey,:tongue_smilie:
No I did not buy it yet.
He called me a couple days ago and left me a message on my cell,
And wanted to know if I was still in the market to buy it.
Said he was welling to sell it to me for cheaper now.
So I may nap it for the right price, :tiphat:
But I also will need to find a bigger building soon for all the stuff at this rate. :help:

Ps How is that bad ass cat of yours ?
Still beating up the dogs.

Hello I am new in Germany,:tiphat:
and my English is not good ........
For the price I would have bought it immediately.
I have my time all the way from U.S. imported because it is not available in Germany.
Let's see if it works with the photos?
My Tug runs on 12V with Great "Dunker engines" that rotate as 3000RPM.
