Suggestions...................:confused1:

What were your running temps? The proboat motors have a very solid rep.

- How long do you run at a time?
- How freely is the cat running?
- How often do you remove and lube the cable?
- How much timing are you running?

This was only a 5 minute run time lube every time i put a set of batteries in i did on this run go from stock prop to M445 to test speed on the GPS this was all in the 5 minute run. I think its time to move to a better motor company.

Are you sure its the motor...could be a crappy solder joint on the motor connectors..sometimes this is the actual cause of a "bad" motor.

yes im sure i moved all connectors to 5.5 prier

OK...gotta ask, how are your soldering skills!

Can the motors still turn over?
Do they smell bad?
Is there any dis-colorization that would indicate excessive heat anywhere?

the red an blue wire is brown and the motor does turn and smells real foul solder is good jsut going to give up on Proboat motors for now

Its go to be something else if you a blowing motors up, I've sent pb motors to hell and back, they are kind of like the energizer bunny.

I fried the stock motor too on 6S, but I attribute it to a badly aligned flex shaft. The joint where the flex and solid portions meet on the stock shaft are pretty bad. I just installed a new shaft from HH and it made a big difference. I believe the added load caused by friction of the shaft within the bushings caused my motor wires to melt off. That along with excessive run times.

6S on 1800kv is really pushing it on the RPM side... once you get to super high RPMs the drivetrain has to be pefectly balanced and bind-free. The proboat 1500kv is a much better 6s motor. Maybe think about maxing out at 5S on the 1800.

If only TWO of the three wires are discolored, that would be some indication that the impedances of the three motor phases were not balanced equally. In other words, maybe one of those connector joints wasn't as perfect as you thought it was.

Any number of things can overload the motor. Flex shaft alignment, poor prop balance, too much pitch, strut too low...

I run a thinned, sharpened, and balanced stock prop, stock motor, and stock ESC on 6S without problems. Mine doesn't even get warm running on 4s.

I bought an M445 that I was going to try on my stock Mystic (1800kv motor, 60A esc), but when I sat that prop next to the stock PB SS prop, I had other thoughts!!! :flashfire: So, I bought an M440, only 5mm (~ .197 inches) difference in diameter, but, wow, what a difference in the two props laying side by side. The M440 "looks" much closer to the stock PB, whereas the M445 "looks" huge compared to either. I wouldn't be surprised if the loading of the M445 had something to do with your motor overload or exasperated "impedance out-of-balance" if what Pyro says, happens.
