Hello everyone,This is my first post although I have used alot of info from your posts for my projects, including my Reef Racer 2 that I just finished. Just thought I would post my specs and some pics of the boat.Thanks for thwe help and tips and |I'll post a video when the ice melts off the lakes up here in Canada.
Specs:
Hull: Stock prop and hull other than dual water pick ups and dual outlets.
604 grams (with battery)
Motor: 2040SL 4800kv Brushless Inrunner (WaterCooled),
250w output, 20amps max, 11 volts max.
ESC: Birdie 50A Brushless Boat ESC w/3A BEC,
2-7 cell lipo, 60amp burst, waterecooled
Radio and reciever: Spektrum DX3C and MR200
Battery: 7.4 volts 2cell 30c Lipo with Deans connector

Nice job. I like the updated motor mount. We have a fleet of these things that we run up north. Every so often, you can find them for $35 at tower scratch and dent. The self-righting feature is the bomb!

The only problem we had when we upgraded the power was the motor coupler. It broke into pcs...every time! We had to machine solid aluminum couplers. We also taped the hatches all around in addition to the water proof discs. Have fun!!!

I like the motor mount too. I built 4 of these a couple years ago. Great little boat but not exciting in stock form. I chose the motor to fit the stock cooling coil and motor mount. I like your idea on the motor mount though. Fun little boat that everyone young and old will enjoy.
