Hello FE Racers,
Announcing the Wave Blasters 4th Annual Spring Shoot-out.
The race will be held May 18th & 19th in Ft. Pierce at our regular
Palm Lake pond site. We just confirmed the dates today so we do
not have all of the details worked out yet,
but here is what we have so far.

We will have our annual club picnic Saturday the 18th from 11:00 to 1:00.
This means all Club Members and Shoot-out participants will have a great
"Free" picnic lunch and meet and greet.
There will be open water from 9:00 till 2:00. Heat racing from 2:00 till 5:00.
Then open water till dusk.
Tentatively here are the
Saturday Classes:
-P-Limited Offshore (4-minute offshore)
-P-Limited Catamaran (4-Minute offshore)
-Crackerbox / Jersey Skiff
-P & Q Hydro
-1/10th Modern Scale

On Sunday we will race from 9:00 till 5:00 with a drivers meeting at 8:30.
Sunday classes:
-N2-Mono
-SV Stock
-LSH (P-Limited Sport Hydro)
-P-Limited Hydro
-OPC (P-Limited Outboard tunnel)
-P-Mono
-1/10th Scale
-SV Modified
-P & Q Offshore (3 minute offshore)
-Open Mono

All classes will be 3 rounds with a minimum of 4 boats per class.
We will announce the where to sign-up next week.
Last year we were suprised to have almost 100 boats.
With any luck we will improve on that amount.
Sponsorship details also to be announced shortly.
Entry fees should be similar to last year.
Basically wanting you guys to mark your calendars, and
have you check this thread later this week for more details.
We look forward to seeing all of our old friends and meeting some new ones too,
Thanks,
Ken :bounce:

hey ken...p limited cats offshore will run seperate from the mono's? iam in lol

Hi Ron,
Thought you might like them racing in a separate class from the mono's.
I might just get one for that race too.
We hope we get a good turnout for this cat class. Actually Tony Heller
Gave us the idea, which goes along with our club's long term emphasis
on the RTR SV classes that we race.
With any luck this may kick start this class in normal club racing.
As soon as I hear back from Bill Britton I plan to get the sign ups started
on RC Racing events.

You might have noticed I added "Cat" to the Open Mono Class.
Yep.....we could have quite the race even if you insist on owning lane 1...lol

I listed them from near to far:
Palm Beach Intl (pbi) = 62 miles / 1 hour 12 minutes

Ft Lauderdale (fll) = 110 miles / 2 hours 0 minutes

I sure would like to come, but can't this year. I was just down in Florida last week. My wife and I stayed with my brother and sister-in-law in Sebastian. Maybe next year.

Hey Ken,
Wish I could be there. Now pretty much in the wheelchair full time. Had to drop out of FE boating. Always a blast at your races and the FE Nats in 2011 were the BEST! I hope you have a great turnout.

Ken,so everyone knows, are Revolts allowed in the SV classes???
After some discussion,it was decided that yes Revolts would be allowed in the SV classes for this race on a trial basis. In a nut shell, the rules are stock 1800 KV motor and AQ 60A esc.Stock class must run the plastic 3 blade 42mm prop that comes with a SV 27,mod class is open prop.
Should be interesting!

Well the part I hate the most about organizing an event is asking for sponsorships and money.
However this is what makes these events work so here I go.

For this years Spring Shoot-Out we are looking for Class Sponsors.
Don Wollard has again stepped up as the Main Event Sponsor as he has for so many years. Thanks Don
Steve Vacarro has also helped us with many gift certificates for the raffle.
These raffles a huge and usually generate alot of event saving funds, so
any vendor door prizes, gift certificates etc. will be thankfully accepted by the club.

We are asking for $40 per class for to be a Class sponsor.
Below are a list of our classes for the Shoot-out.

Saturday (May 18th)
P-Ltd Cat (3 minute offshore)
P-Ltd Offshore / LSO (3-Minute Offshore)
P&Q Hydro "Sponsored by Bubblegum Racing"
Cracker Box / Jersey Skiff

Sunday (May 19th)
N2-Mono "Sponsored by Coastal Marine Fabrication"
SV 27 Stock "Sponsored by Aquacraft"
P-Ltd OPC
P-Ltd Sport Hydro (LSH)
P-Mono "Sponsored by Bubblegum Racing"
SV 27 Modified "Sponsored by Aquacraft"
1/10th Scale (Vintage)
P-Ltd Spec Hydro
P&Q Offshore "Sponsored by Bubblegum Racing"

Just send me a PM or email if you can help.
Thanks, Ken :bounce:

Hey Ken "Bubblegum Racing" will sponsor PQ Hydro and Offshore, Open Mono/Cat, and P-mono!!!

Ken Haines
04-22-2013, 10:38 AM
Wow Mike....Thanks for your continued generosity.

By the way, we had a hugely successful display at the
Stuart Power Boat races. We certainly expect a lot of
spectator interest at the Shoot-out as we passed out
hundreds of race flyers and club cards.

I will mark you in as the sponsor of those classes.
Thanks a million Bubblegum Racing,
from all the Wave Blasters :bounce:

P.S. You did not have to buy my silence....LMAO

Are any of the Wave Blasters planning on attending the FE Nationals this year in CA?

madmikepags
04-28-2013, 09:38 AM
I'm not a waveblaster but I'm speaking for the guys here in D1, none of us will be attending, mosly because of the early June date, our kids are all still finishing up school and with all the stuff that goes on with that (shows, concerts, graduations receitals etc..) it's just not feasible.

To All You Waveblasters:

I was fortunate enough to be in Fort Pierce for the Spring Bash last weekend, and wanted to let everyone know what a great event it was. There were some seriously fast boats there and the competition on the course was fierce, fast and furious.

I shot about 16 videos of some of the heats, and wanted to get them posted as soon as possible; however I'm still on the road traveling and have lost some valueable time getting them uploaded on youtube. They are in no particular order and hopefully I got most of the classes right. All post and comments are welcome, and now everyone can have a front row seat to the action. Enjoy.

PS: I was unsuccessful in posting the video direct to here, so the link to each video is the best I could do. Hope it works okay.
