I dunno about heat racing but the best prop I found is th L40/57/3

Grim 42x55 is a good basic heat racing prop for a P-Lim Sport Hydro. I run a barr cut 442 on my Insane. A 445 is way too much on our water for the Insane though the UL1 is smaller and lighter. I would still be VERY careful if I tried it.

You running a UL1 for the season?? You should ask Charles if he could add a B / P-Lim Sport Hydro class for the Greenbrier race. I already asked him to do Gas Rigger.

FYI- Ft Ritchie race date moved up to September 21-22. The October date was the same weekend as Fall Nats....and my anniversary.

Thats what I figured. Plus you can move all the electrics over to the FE30 when you get one. It's a no brainer. The UL1 hull handles pretty well but can be a little fragile for heat racing so stay away from me. LOL

A few suggestions. Replace the Deans and Aquacraft 4mm bullets with high quality bullets. The Aquacraft 4mm's are cheaply made and can fail. The Deans can get hot while heat racing. We're pushing much more than 60 amps through them. Go with 5.5mm bullets on the battery and good quality 4mm or 5.5's on the motor..... or you can solder the motor wires to the esc. Also with the Aquacraft speed controller you will probably have to play with your neutral trim on your transmitter when you first fire everything up to get the esc to initialize.

what bullets should i use. i putting traxxes plus on the esc all my offroad battery's have traxxes plugs. what is the battery mah limit

That depends. Some people have enough $$ to melt a UL-1 motor every race with some hefty props. Use 5.5mm bullet plugs all around.

We try to discourge disposable motors in D12. LOL

I'm for OSE 5.5's all the way around also. No mAh limit on packs. Most of us run 45C 5000's. Everything stays cool and plenty of juice to finish a race plus a little extra.

You notice that there are lots of $50 UL-1 motors in Sept. - October every year...

Isn't the 42x55 Grimm also a nice prop? Thats what I want to try on my PTSS when things melt.

That whisp of oderless white smoke when untaping is the tell tale sign a UL1 motor isnt going to last a season.

I mentioned the 42x55 at the very beginning of post #3. It's A great bread and butter prop for P-Lim Sport Hydro and Tunnel. Even a detounged 442 was a little too much in the water I run in. I got Mr. Sholund to put a little bar cut in mine to get the temps down. I would guess the 42x55 has a little more lift. I need to do a little more testing with it.

Yes ... voltage is the only limitation.

What Chuck Said. Any mAh and C rating is okay. but you'll be carrying allot of extra weight with 6600's. Then again the UL1 is most likely allot lighter than my FE30.

Chuck, you used to race a UL1 with the Old Dominion club. What prop did you like??
