    Rudder Problems

Just curious....do any of you have problems with the rudder linkages breaking randomly? I run mine while my other boats are charging and so far i've broken linkages without explanation on almost every run. Other than that this boat ranks high for bang-for-the buck value.
Yes its fast, yes it will go far away, yes its expensive. No you cant try it.

I had a rudder bracket break. Some ca glue and a small piece of fiberglass cloth made fixed it up. I think I hit something to snap it.

Mine seem to break just in hard turns, ive done the CA thing, I havent tried glassing it yet. Anyone making some aluminum pieces besides the custom ones i saw in another thread?

I have my prototype brackets that I had machined out of brass before Dave fabricated the new set. These are very strong, they will not bend without straining.
Stock one in the frame for reference.

I havent actually broke those particular pieces......yet. But my problem is more in the control arm set up, but I suppose if I fab up a set out of brass that wouldnt be too difficult. You think all that brass hanging off the back of the little guy will make handling issues? And were you interested in selling your prototypes, or was the pic just to show me how you did it?

I just got my MR yesterday and noticed that the right control arm was already cracked where the ball joint attached to it. I made a piece of .020" aluminum and epoxied it to the arm......very strong now. Will post a picture tomorrow.

Ok, i dont have pics yet, but today at the shop i made a really cool (not as cool as the billet Diego had) set of hardware for the mr. Basically took the brass pieces Diego sent me and copied all the other parts in brass as well. It looks pretty cool, and it doesnt break! Also put a graupner speed 400 in it. (cant do the brushless until the wife quits paying attention) Anyway, will try to get pics up this week.
