How fast are you running with the stock motor and esc on 4s? The only thing I did was two prop changes and grease the flex cable.

I'll start:

Sweet, but what does that have to do with a stock motor and esc?

Did you mean a stock RTR boat and setup? If so, sorry, that is not what I read into your thread. There are those who hop up, modify, their motors and esc...... Anyway it will be fun to see the replies you get to your thread. By the way what are you running (boat, motor, esc) to get to 45MPH?

Everything in my boat is 100% stock and both props I tried are also straight out of the box with zero work. I'm running two 2s 5600 50c packs.

So no one else on here has made top speed runs with the stock motor and esc?

Since no one else posted, does that mean I have the fastest stock motor/esc Motley Crew? If not who can prove me wrong?

I broke 50 today :) and think there is more left in the boat all runs have been made with untouched props. No thinning or balancing yet

I went 58.8 today on the stock motor and esc. my goal is to get video footage and break 60 this coming weekend. Still running untouched props.

I would like to see some hardcore proof. I was testing a friends motley today with the stock set up and a balanced and sharpened prop. It was no where near 58.8mph. In fact I spent over 2 hours tunning his boat for him and the boat woke up with a 48mm prop (plastic for test purposes) and some 40 c packs on 4s. I have read your posts and you do not list anything except its stock. What batteries are you running? What is the angle of your strut? What is the COG of the boat? Where are your batteries placed? What untouched prop are you running? Just saying its stock with untouched props smells fishy. If it is in fact true, how about some real info on this as it would really be beneficial to other owners who spend a lot of time tunning their boats.

So how many times did you gps to verify the gps reading is correct?

Remember.. when using a GPS.. AND.. the boat blows off.. it will read the blow off speed NOT the on the water speed.

You can use a GPS but just keep this in mind..

Grimracer, do you have any testing data to share? Asking for data with stock motor and stock esc, any battery and prop data you've collected for this would be nice. :)

By the way... My stock Motley Crew with a pair of 2s 4500mAh 65c and GR 42x55 prop with positive strut angle and batteries to the rear is faster than a stock Blackjack 29 with a pair of 2s 4500mAh 35c and X440 and also x442 prop.

(THANK YOU!)

I have lots of data.. Let me get caught up on some stuff here at work and see what I can come up with.

Thanks YOU!.. its the users of the products that are most important. Its dudes like you that we want to do each and every product better and better!

Cheers

Hey, guys I'll try to get some updates for you later this week, I keep jumping back and forth between two props the ABC H5 and H7. I've ran 4 different sets of batters 2s 6000 mah 35c, 2s 5000 mah 40c and 2s 5600 mah 50c. The best speed has been with the 50c batteries and the strut is what I call out as far as I can get it, with having a buddy tighten the strut bolt/nut. I run the boat as dry as I can without it porpoising.

Once the boat hit 50.4 MPH I thought it was time to step it up, so I tossed in a set of 3s packs with no adjustments in the strut the boat ran 58.8 with the H5 on batteries that were only about 75% charged. I also had to control porpoising with the throttle as it was extremely dry. I felt like I was making a 100+ mph run in one of my RC cars.

I'll get videos of it this weekend breaking 60.

I didn't think the stock AQ 60A ESC would run on 6s...but then I guess I've never tried.
Thanks!

Blowoff speed? Please explain...

Blow off speed is the point the boat is airborne and on its way over and the prop is still in the water. The boat accelerates tremendously and the MPH reading goes up. Sometimes it does this (but just gets REAL LOOSE) the boat lifts, darts or whatever and adds MPH to an otherwise normal run.

I see it all the time with both GPS and Radar guns. You can watch the MPH go up live using a radar gun. Of course the GPS only reads peak!

Grim,
Is it ok to run the aq60a ESC on 6s?
I've been operating under the impression it was strictly a 4s Speedo.
Thanks!

I would say the ESC is a ticking time bomb on 6s and it's just a matter of time before it lets go. Until then, I'm going to see how far I can push it.

Thanks, Good Luck!
I found vinegar/acetone/and dryer sheets work fairly well at getting the burned stink smell out of the hull :buttrock:

Didn't get a chance yet with work, cars and coffee, a dyno day and a track event over the weekend I've been a bit busy. I will have it out this week/weekend.

Used a drill bit to set the strut height out of water distance.
.188 to far out tried .125 out
Got the boat to 44 mph

I am using Eagle Tree on mine. You can look at a graph chart in real time. Example: I have crashed my boat before and the chart shows I am cruising along at 72mph then it spikes up to 98mph and back to zero mph in about 1 second. Thus, top speed reads 98mph. I know I did not go 98 mph, so it was caused by the boat whipping around during the crash, like Grim said....I think.

Stock MC:

43.2mph, x445prop.

47.4mph, m645prop. Temps after less than 2 min run: ESC 152, Motor 130. Not good, but big fun.

Been testing my mc with ul 1 motor..m445 prop..on smooth water timing at 3 degrees..hit max of 51.9..but really loose..no wind..In race trim..strut at around 2 degrees positive...right around 48..to keep from blowing over

Ran my MC today, hit 41 with GR 42x55 prop, using 4s turnigy 6000mah 45c bats
than swapped batts and ran 38 using venom 3000mah 30c batts

in the past with a crash, I saw 55mph on gps, which didn't really occur.
