I just picked up a Revolt and wondering if it will run safely on a single 3S 40C Lipo Pack? wanting to slow it down a little for my son to drive. thanks

It should run fine. You could also run 4s and trim the throttle.

I don't think it will work on 3s with the stock ESC, I believe they are 4s only. Dialing down the throttle would slow it down if your TX has that capability, but you'd want to keep an eye on your temps as the ESC can heat up quickly when NOT running WOT.
you could pick up a cheap hobby king ESC that works on 3s and use it for your son...should be able to get a Birdie for 20 to 30 bucks.

Or you could just prop the boat way down.

Revolt pretty slow on 3s. I run mine on 4 and 5s. For five s you need at least 120 amp esc. Here's is video 5s 42 55 grim.

By the way I have run mine with stock esc on 3s. Not much excitement.
