Battery and EC3 Lead.

Guys I'm a noob to the hobby. After a month of reading and learning. I order a BJ29. I ordered some Gen Ace Lipos and they come with banana plug charge lead.

I figured since the boat has EC3 plug, I can get one of these EC3 to banana plug charge lead and able to use it. But this doens't seems to work. Turn switch on and nothing come on.

I look at the adapter cable it seems like the polarity seems to be reverse from the banana plug to the ec3 adapter. Can you guys give me some pointer please?

Just switch the bananas going in to the charger. It doesn't know what color the leads are.
Most chargers will warn you if the polarity or reversed.

Check that. I thought you were talking about charging the battery. At the very least you need to go ec3 from battery to esc. It's not a good idea to use a adapter. Hard on both the battery and esc.

So I figured it out. The cable that I plug in original was just the adapter cable for the charger..
I use the included cable + the adapter and got it to work fine.
However I found it also needs to be angle b/c the straight plug wont fit inside the boat with the plug sticking on top of it. Guess time to run to the local hobby shop :)

You'll find that most in the boat hobby don't use hard pack batteries.
For one reason which you've noticed, the leads won't fit in a lot of cats. The second reason is that some think that they don't dry out as well as soft packs if gotten wet.
Can you solder? If so get some 5.5mm bullet connectors for both the esc and batteries. They work best.

I eliminated the unnecessary connectors altogether. Since I use these same hard-packs in my Slash 4x4, I just put bananas directly on the ends of the ESC leads, and fabricated a series banana-to-banana jumper. I bent the wire 90° just before the solder joint (for clearance) and heat-shrinked the exposed metal. This allows for pack versatility, and a good connection with less resistive loss. I am looking forward to running this new boat when the weather warms up.

ec5's are the way to go imo. no risk of shorting and it keeps connections dry if anything does happen

Putting EC-anything's onto a second set of connectors is senseless. Either get a set of wire-lead packs and put the EC5's on them, or put bananas on the ESC leads if you're going to use hardpacks. Pick one or the other. Avoid adapters.

i'm using ec-5 in my impulse and recently bougth MG V2 ,
i like them
