While I'm waiting for the right hull to come along for my first build I have a magic cat (toy) I have seen some amazing videos on the net where people have put a bigger and faster set up in it.there are some that reference back to this forum but I have search and so far found nothing on them. Is there anyone out there that has got one and played around with the set up?
I know it is very small but it's another toy and I'm sure you know how it is making things as fast as you can. Thanks

I had the magic Vee and those little boats are impressively fast foe a toy. I would try a powerful slot car motor..
Joysway boats are great, I'm a huge fan even though I race for Atomik.
Look into some exotic slot car motors..

got one here I've rewound the stock motor in, run times are about 1min with the standard battery now, but it FLYS! Well it did, till I left the thing in the car and the TX melted!!! Wish Id taken some pics now, was pretty damn funny!!
if I get motivated I will get it back on the water and shoot some vids, it hauls for a tiny toy boat.

A slot car motor is a great idea. I wonder if a 1/24 one would work/fit. I have a few and can guide you to where to get some if they are an ideal fit.

I have now pulled the motor and electrics from the boat and the motor is a 180 I think, the dimensions are 20mm wide x 15mm tall x 34mm long not including the shaft which is 6mm long x 2mm.
I don't have access to a descent model shop to check the dimensions against the style of motor your referring to. Is this in the ball park of the motor your thinking of?
I do have room to play but not much.
Thanks S

My modified magic cat was using a trackstar 1/18 esc that had been waterproofed - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14630__Turnigy_TrackStar_18A_1_18th_Scale_Brushl ess_Car_ESC.html
The motor I was using was a 2030 sized inrunner similiar to this http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24777__BL_2030_16_Brushless_Inrunner_Motor_5800k v.html
I am referring to this boat in the past tense as it submarined and held full throttle in a very murky creek, never to resurface. I had no floatation foam.
