So I am guessing these are E-bike motors with that low KV.
I have always dreamed of building a one man Electric outrigger to scream around the lake with.We are getting there,we just need those Nano-Phosphate batteries.

Big question is not to get a big brushless motor, big question is where to get a suitable ESC?

Don't kid yourself , In our never ending quest to go bigger and better I am sure thats on the drawing board somewhere also and there is no real rocket science to building an esc that handles more power - just cost . I would be curious what models they had in mind when they designed and built these motors .

Chris Fine sure does sell TP motors, including the 30 HP monster. He markets them as Black Diamond Nemesis and has claimed on numerous occasions that "his" line of Black Diamond Nemesis motors are "new to the market" from am "aerospace company" he's been working with in China.

His entire line of Black Diamond motors are nothing more than marked up TP's. The same motors available on fightercat for less than half the price. I'm not one to impede a man's method of livelihood, but when lied to, on numerous occasions in attempts to sell overpriced, falsely marketed motors, a line has to be drawn. Not that this will surprise some of you, but on the models where TP paints their logo on the cooling fins and cooling can, he goes so far as to grind/wire brush off all the branding...ask me how I know. :censored:

He is the only one US dealer to offer Mainly or Only "Y" winds. Since TP and other Tp dealers mainly advertise "D" winds, he is actually offering something different,

Yes, I agree his prices are the steepest.

Good Morning Ray. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, and to defend Mr. Fine...nothing wrong with that whatsoever. However, regarding your point about offering something "different", I'd lean toward thinking that just because other retailers choose to "mainly" or "only" offer a specific wind or size, doesn't mean they won't or don't order their customers whatever motor they desire. I know personally that TP is easy do deal with, even directly. I guess my main point was that in fact he lied to me on multiple occasions. Boo Hoo, right? This is nothing new in the world of sales but it deserves being exposed when identified. Just my opinion.

Wrapping this around back around to "on topic" discussions, I can say that TP's have performed "somewhat well" in my limited experience with them. I most certainly don't have the 30 hp monster motor, but have ran their 8400 watt 6 pole in a short cat. It logged over 10,000 watts on several occasions and never broke a sweat.

I'm not defending him but, he has always been square with me when I call him.

I do not make fun of anyone that has troubles with any supplier. I have dealt with TP directly also and they are very good, prices via direct are almost the same as Fine Design.

*EDIT, no prices are not even close, sorry, just checked.... Whoa... My apologies. Must have had the "GOLD" series in my mind...

I just bought the TP100 from an Australian vendor for just under Canadian $700.00 which I find very fair price wise , The fact that Fine is advertising his for over $1800.00 is ridicules and hi-way robbery .

TPPower makes the TP100 and the TP120 . What I ordered and started this thread with was the TP100 , Fine is advertising the TP120 which is 5 inches x 5 inches and it is considerably more expensive than the TP100 but I could get it less than Fines $1885.00 . That motor is so overkill for any models we use its not even funny . The TP100 which is 4 inches x 4 inches and will be put is a 57" Apache is bordering on way overkill also . But hey I have always been a big block fan .

Yeah but, it would be cool in go cart would it not?

What kind of motor do you think I could use to power my wheelchair? I weight 185 and the chair is 32= 217lbs

Then how would I gear it? The cars in the crapper almost so I need something :blah:

You could get away with as little as 500 watts Ray or depending on how fast you want to go - I built a Cobalt 60 powered electric bike back in the early 90's and it did 35 kph with a range of 12kilometers per charge ( 42 x 4000mah/DR cells ) I have been itching to build another one with the current tech .

ray schrauwen

Maybe I'll or we can start a thread in the anything electric section. I'd need hub's machined to replace the existing ones to couple the power to them.

Cool.

So, What Prop will match that motor ?

I did some estimating .... with a 200 amp ESC (castle HV2 ice)

x465 + 11s lipo = 58.46 mph and 195 amps and 22,970 rpm and 8,594 watts, 3.02 run time (11s2p) .

or

x462 + 12s lipo = 61.8 mph, 25,471 rpm, 187.5 amps, 9,062 watts, 3.2 run time (12s2p)

intended to mount in a 72" Apache hull.....
