Picked up a Rx-R Revolt 30 from tower for 189 bucks after my Super Saver discount while they were on sale. I like the hull design and hardware but the lipo tray left a lot to be desired and the hull felt a little flimsy ( we race pretty rough sometimes and it probably wouldn't survive )

I took a trip to the Kintec Racing world headquarters and picked up a few key parts which include an upgrade shaft, M445 prop and some carbon Fiber batt plates.

I removed the piece of foam from the nose and poured some 2 part urethane foam in its place to provide some strength up front, I also coated the entire floor of the hull with some PT-40 finishing resin to add stiffness. While the PT-40 was still wet I layed the carbon batt plates in place. The combination of batt plates, 2 part foam and the extra coat of finishing resin added some weight but I think the added strength benefits will be worth it.

I also swapped out the stock esc for a 90 amp seaking with 5.5mm bullets for the batt connection and installed one of the HK knock off spektrum receivers

Haven't had a chance to run it yet since its cold a snowy right now but hopefully I can get some run time in before the local lakes freeze

i did it in 2 pours, each pour was 1 ounce ( 1/2 oz part a and 1/2 oz part b ) for a total of 2 ounces of foam

yes, the nose is rock solid and the rest of the hull is much stiffer since the finishing resin was applied

I plan to undergo the same overhaul. except I'm adding some carbon fiber cloth. I'm also putting the single battery tray down the center. I run a single 4s battery. Not sure if I'm going to add the foam....

If I didnt already have 15 of the 2s 5000mah 40c Turnigys I would run a single 4s also. I ran a single 4s in my Kintec Prince and liked the way it handled. If you are adding CF cloth then the foam probably isn't necessary

Looks real good! Pete32200, may I ask you how does the HK knock off Spektrum rx work? Another words what kind of TX do I need, and do they work well on water?
BTW, like your battery plates, looks solid!

I have 7 of them in use right now with no issues, all you need is a spektrum radio that is DSM2, I use a DX3c, the standard DSM transmitters wont bind to the HK receivers, it has to be DSM2

I'm thinking of doing something similar to what you have done with your batteries. I've got a question regarding your placement of trays. Is it better to place them higher up on the hull, kind of like you did. Or I was thinking drop them as low in the hull as I could to get that weight as low as I could. Seems like one way displaces the weight side to side better , while the other way gets it lower. I need a genius to figure this out for me . By the way, your work looks great . It really cleans up the inside a bunch.

From the testing I've done so far, the best battery layout is stacked in the center. This config gets the CG as low as possible in the Revolt Hull. I made a CF box which will replace the stock tray when it goes.
