Gens Ace 5300's are relatively cheap (~ $30 each), but you need to buy Deans plugs and solder them on. There are a couple of deals on e-bay for a 4 pack of 5000mah Thunder Power 2s, for $120 (for all 4 batteries) and you can specify Deans plugs on them at purchase. About the best deals on batteries that I know about.

Think I might "need" to order one of these Revolts, too - hard to pass up that deal for a Christmas present from me, to me  ... just need to figure out whether I want silver/white or plain white :confused1:

Question for those who have bought/own these ... is the prop supplied on the boat balanced and sharpened, right out of the box, or do you need to do that yourself. I bought a new GrimRacer 42X55 prop, and right out of the package it is WAY out of balance. Wouldn't want to destroy the strut on a brand new boat!
Thanks,
Bob

Bob_t bad info on the deans in my opinion be much better off going EC5's or 5.5mm bullets

Yea, I know Deans are not preferred, but that is what comes on the boat's esc, so if he doesn't want to change the battery connectors on the ESC and just run the boat "as received" he would need Deans. Was just trying to point him to some deals on batteries that others have told me about. That TP battery deal is available with either traxxas plugs or deans, but you get the traxxas by default, unless you specify deans.

I have some good lipos ... and some Gens Aces' too. The Gens Ace packs seem to be the most out of balance, when put on the charger. Might give the Thunder Power deal a try ... from what I read on here, their customer service is better than that for the Gens Ace packs ... I have one with a really low cell, and they pretty much just said "sorry".

PS, ordered a white revolt late last night.

Here's a site that has good prices for TP, but the stock changes http://www.discountlipos.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1817. But their prices are the same as regular prices at dinogylipos.com which are performing the same as TP and Hyperion. I've also got some great deals on TP (TP6500-6SP45 for $95) from purehobby on rcgroups. Here's a couple of 2s 4400 40c's he has now http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1779682.

You get the same discount if you join when ordering, that's where the $199 comes from for the receiver ready version.

WOW!!! I just checked on Tower Hobbies tonight, just out of curiosity, and the price is back to $349. They still have a sale code for $35 off, so it would "only" be $314 with free shipping.

Thanks again for posting the sale!!! Can't wait till Christmas to open mine (I noticed that my wife wrapped it today)!
