Drive and Video ?

Anyone here figure out how to run a boat & Video tape at the same time? I guess I gotta mount something on my head....Ugh, I didn't want to look that dorky.

Ideas?

I've got a couple ideas for you.The first is the classic head cam.I did this at first with my Contour cam.Problem is here is that although it is great for always being on you're boat this proves hard to zoom even if you can(can't on a Contour). Next is a TX mounted cam and give me a bit and I'll take a couple of pics and show you how I do that.

I rigged my iPhone to the lid of my baseball cap with coat hanger. Yes it looks ridiculous but works. Most people use gopro camera mounted this way, they're a bit smaller

So this is what I made quite easily.A little shelf bracket and some assorted washers and bolt that fits your cam

Mount this on the cam

And install a bolt to your TX and bend the bracket till you are happy with it and voila

I can easily adjust the zoom with my steering hand/finger

My buddy John Mclean has a pair of HD video sunglasses, work pretty good. Even have sound.

This was shot with them, The video is much better on his computer, youtube rendering seems to kill the quality.

I used some velcro straps to hold the camcorder to the side of my tx,
Just need to learn how to zoom and drive at the same time.:lol:
This are pictures of my canon on the side of the tx,
But now I have a jvc camcorder that work a lot better.

I have used the #11 keychain cam which is the size of a car remote alarm($40), and records in 720p velcroed to my hat brim, and now I have a gopro hero2 with an eleastic strap for head mount. Keychain cam, harder to figure out, easy to mount, gopro easy to use, mount, and does the best video. Here are some examples, first the keychain, then the gopro:

I am really impressed with the gopro video quality, just not too crazy about the extreme wide lense since there is already quite a distance to video, the play back seems always so far away and I am so near sighted. :crying:
