today i ripped it apart so i can start the SJFE build.
as tom stated these a junk.
cant wait to get it wet.

Mike,
Epoxy the bottom to keep the water out. With out the flood chamber it will be top heavy and roll right over. I will be a brand new copy of the motor I used along with a couple templates. Order a DR motor mount. Glue the first piece plywood to the top of the flood chamber you closed off.. The next thing I did was cut 2 more pieces as stringers.The where about 2 inches high. I ran those long ways down both sides. The next piece of ply I glued to the top of these with a few inches hanging over to hang the DR mount off of. Remember it gets hung upside down and aliened with the shaft. The ujoint from the 380 motor will have to be drilled out. Be sure to start with a small bit and work your way up. I was barley able to slide it on the shaft. It hasn’t slipped yet. The last thing is to rig the steering servo. You can use my pics or be creative. Mine does hit the under side of the deck if I crank the rudder right all the way.

What motor did you use?

I had a couple new motors from ABC Hobby Fighter 550 kits in the bin. They are nice air cooled 27 turn torquey marine motors.

when you say epoxy the bottom do you mean the slots in the bottom or the syphon tube hole.

I just coated he bottom and covered up the slots.

well today i woke up early after getting home from the las vegas supercross @ 2:30am this morning and decided to work on the tug.
i now have it ready for the motor(thinking i might build my oun mount) rather than buy the dr mount.
all ply is sealed awaiting the motor mount.

Your box went out today. I couldent find them patters to save my life:confused: :confused: . I tossed 2 marine motors in, a .130 drive setup and one of the speed controlers if you wana try it. I will post a pic of my riggers upright so you can get an idea of the scale.

thats ok on the patterns, i was able to go by the pics you posted.
i think i will use shrink tube around the stock motor coupler just to be safe.
and a big thanks for the motors and hardware.

No problem. The 55osh is a good stock marine motor. it will last a long time.

the tug is complete.
had a issue with the motor coupler but solved that with a little CA.
works like a champ.
