So i already have a motley crew that has hit 47mph and that was pretty unstable lol... I want a new challenge, so i thought about doing a build by myself. I want something that handles well and goes in the high 50's-low 60's.
Here is what i was thinking:
-Aeromarine mean machine hull
-leopard 4082...what kv would work best?
-Seaking 180 amp esc
-M445 prop
-5.5mm bullets on everything
-either 4s or 6s
-keep the cost under $500

About what speed would this setup yield (4s and 6s)? I wanted something a little faster than the motley crew and more stable at higher speeds. Any opinions would be appreciated.

There are several informative build threads here , you will find discussion of set up and even some video clips.

I finished my build just a week or two ago based on Dana's thread: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/showthread.php?37876-My-attempt-at-building-the-Mean-Machine I am using Neu 1515 1y ( 2200kv), I use 4s2p, since I am just beginning. I believe Dana uses the same motor but he is using 5s2p, should see his video!
Your choice of Leopard 4082 would work, depending whether you run 4s or 6s, choose your kv accordingly. Seaking 180a ESC, M445 prop. Speed Master hardware.
Cheers!

yah i figured that the 1600kv motor would be best because i will really only be sport running it anyways (for now!)
