i know this is dumb to say but i still dont understand the timing on a brushless motor ...some people are telling me its like a distributor on a gas engine but how can it be you can turn a distributor to advance or retard the timing ....what is there to turn in a brushless motor you have a armature and your windings there is nothing to turn i know on a ford or a gm generator you can turn the brush holder to get the voltage to go up our down so can someone tell me what the timing really does on a brushless motor sorry but i am lost

Its not a dumb question. It's actually a really good thing your welling to learn about. Motor timing is more related to the different motor winds. If a motor has the wrong timing it can create excess heat and amp draw w/o actually producing more power. This thread can help you.
