I've made motor mounts out of aluminum angle you can get at home depot.
There is a couple ways to make them work but your best bet is buy 1 already made that you can just glue/glass in place. Last thing you want it the mount coming loose on you!

Search for what other mounts people have used for the MM.
Why reinvent the wheel when others have done it...

Ul1 motor should be ok just try to keep the weight down on the boat to around 6lbs rtr and you should see some decent speeds with it.

Danny, check out my mono pics in"my gallery" at the bottom of my post...you will see the rail mount that I made...might be something you could do. The motor mounts I used are from southriverrc....

Go to the Motor Mount section here on OSE. Plenth of "drop/glue in" mounts. On my MM I used a $10 Insane Boats mount, much like

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ose-80902

I laid a base of 3/32 birch ply on the bottom - my MM was the cheaper "water damaged" version. Then STRONG epoxy; West Systems G-Flex and it won't ever break loose.

Nope, think u are confused. Propperchopper had his MM hitting 50 in oval trim with the ul1 motor. The MM is roughly the same size as a Geico or a Mötley Crüe

Mike, Actually it's the Motley Crew that does 50(+:spy:) in heat race trim (2.5 min max). When I tested the MM alongside the MC with a UL-1 and a 442, the MM did 44.xxmph, the Crew did 46.xx. For sport running the MM, I'd definitly go 1800 KV for less amp draw & cooler temps and similiar speeds.

BTW where did you find the umlaut "o" and "u" ?

I like the basic motor mount you have pics of Tony...might be a good way for JB to throw something together....pretty sure he wants something to run in B/P-lim. Hydro at our next Dist. race....

Kent, these are also used in the FE30 P-Sport rigs and support 1515 Neu motors (or Leo 4074's). Highly suggest West G-Flex to stick them down.

Cool! Just went on the Insane site and saw it (similar to the Vacuboats mount)...might get one to use on one of my builds. I like the fact that is thick and does not need a rear support for the mid length motors 1515/4074....
