Hey guys...Im a complete newbie to RC boats...I want to start off with a new brushless and want a cat for sure, but which one..? Im between the Miss Geico, Motley Crew, and the 29 Mystic. I have been looking around and sounds like if i want to do upgrades later that the MC isnt strong enough..what is the best boat between the 3

Thanks
Derek

All are good boats, it depends on what appeals to you, not someone else. Each can be upgraded as much as you want.

At least with the pb stuff you won't have to worry about misaligned motor and hardware that needs work.
All things that leads to frustration for a new boater. Jmo.

I have a Motley Crew, buy a Proboat! Any one of them.

Yes...i did forget to list the PB Blackjack boat. Looks like the 80amp ESC is the main difference between that and the mystic..am i missing something else? how big of a difference will that be between that and the 60amp in the mystic? one more thing...whats better, the offset rudder or the inline ruddder like on Miss Geico?

They have put the release date back to October for the blackjack though. Ok if you don't mind waiting 6 weeks or so. You will prob find that when you upgrade you will replace the esc anyway so in its standard form the mystic is more than up to the job, even with a moderate prop upgrade it will be fine. I've heard the offset rudder is better as it stops the jumping.

It will likely be around then that I buy one anyways. I may just wait for the Blackjack or find a deal on a Mystic and upgrade to a 90amp ESC from OSE...

Any boat you choose won't be without its quirks. Pick the one you like. They're all good boats

I would just go right for a seaking 120 or 180. HobbypartZ sells them at great prices. Then resell the brand new stock esc for 50 bux. Dunno about battery size tho, I don't own this boat

That's ok if you know a bit about boats and rc kn general. I wouldn't say a total newbie would benefit from one of these boats as they usually Need a bit of work out the box. When I first started I didn't even know what epoxy was!

That is true for some. But I thought that if you have a background in rc or modeling that he my want to look at these.
