Hi, Would like your opinions as to the best handling P mono hull available. I am presently running
a Titan 29 with AQ 2030Kv motor on 4S but I feel there is a better hull out there. There are
some Titan 29 which are the usual class winners and some DF 33 but they are Neu powered.
Maybe I should just upgrade motor/esc and keep my Titan hull. Will appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

The biggest problems with the Titan 29 are its size and its lifting characteristics. Longer hulls will often work better in heat racing, the 29" Titan will get the worst of it when racing against a bunch of 33"-34" boats. Second, the high lift built into this hull (which makes it such an awesome P-Limited Mono) works against it in faster P-Mono heats. Speeds above 45 mph or so can cause loss of stability.

You could consider the DF33 boats and clones, the Titan 40 or the Insane mono. These work better in rougher water but have great top end. You could re-power your Titan 29 and add weight to keep it on the water - raising the stinger would be called for as well. These mods will help, but you still have a relatively small boat.

Regardless of the hull, there is no substitute for driving.

Hi Fluid, Thanks for your advice. I just think that the Titan 29 ratio of length and beam are way off. Just too wide for 29". I think I will
go with a DF 33 and transfer my hardware and also upgrade to a better motor/esc. Maybe a Leopard. Again thanks
