Hi,

I've just ordered a Mystic. :w00t:

Are these batteries ok? If not can someone recommend batteries from the site below that are in stock in the UK warehouse?

Most as I don't use hard case packs because they hold water if they get wet. Also, 6000mah probable won't fit in the mystic especially with the plug wires coming out of the top.
Normally you can't fit much more than 5000mah soft packs it a geico/mystic. I run two 4s 4400mah parallel which gives you 8800mah keeps temps down and increase your c rating.
Check out the sky lipos at hobbypartz. Inexpensive and I've had nothing but great luck with them.
Hope this helps.
Jason.

Thanks for your help. I've ordered 2 x 5000mah 30c with peak 40c. I'll try them and see how I go. I've also ordered a load of 5.5mm bullets.

I would say, go with the nano's. I have a bunch of 4500 2s 45-90c lipos, and they kick my orion rocket packs to the moon.

Not the largest ones I know, but I got a bunch of them, and they are cheap.

Here is my friends mystic with hardcase, not the best video, but I will try to tape another run tomorrow with the 45-90c ,and a set of 65-130c pack's.

Thank for the reply.

I've ordered these in the end. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9514
If they're not so good I'll order some more. Trying to get lipo battery pack in the UK at a reasonable price is impossible. I might import a spare set from the US

They will do just fine for now. I have used those 'blue' ones for heli, and they held up great, all cells ballance good each time. But next time try some nanos with 45+ c rating, and I think you will feel the difference.

Same with lipos in Norway. Say 4 lipos , 2s 4500 for exampel , with ems shipp (and if they slipp thrue custom, and they always do :-) ) is cheaper than 2 lipos at the lhs.

I know all about prices in Norway! I worked in Oslo a few years ago. The price of a beer!!!

I'll order some nanos in a month or so. Would you recommend a prop change? Is it possible to buy a prop, fit it and run it? Or do all props need balancing etc? Sorry for the newb questions. It's my first model boat.

Try the prather 220, my friends Geico runs good with it, and yes it need a sharp/ballance, I can't do that so i got mine from funrcboats.com. On the geico I run mostly m445. To much bounch with the prather props. but the mystic seems to run good with prather. Was hoping to take a few video clips later, but I'm on my own today, so to hard to run and film at once.

Sorry for the late reply. I've just got some internet after moving to France (lots of good weather and lakes here compared to UK!). Thanks for the upload. I'll order a Prather 220 ready prepared. I've had a few problems with the Mystic. I can't dial out the bounce. I've got the batteries mounted as far fwd as possible on the tray, I've raised the prop until the point of cavitation but it still bounces along when running flat out on still water. Also the boat cuts out of me for no reason. It's happened three times now. The first time it happened the boat was right in the middle of the lake so I panicked. After weighing up the pros/cons of swimming, the boat sprung back into life. The third time it happened I had just set the boat in the water so I had the chance to pick the boat up and check the connections all over until the boat started working. Annoying I can't remember if it was just the motor affected or both rudder and motor. I couldn't find any dodgy connections before the boat started to work again.

My miss geico's servo locked up on me in the middle of the pond last year, had to drive in circles to get it back to shore , that took a while... Swopped the servo this year, and last time I was out I had the same thing as you, seemd like the spektrum shut down ore something. After a while it just woke up, and I did a range test first, and that was fare beoynd the range it was from shore to middle of the pond. Strange.
