Broken prop strut

The strut snapped on the first run. Looks like it may be a casting issue. There are more than 80 backordered through Horizon. Anyone know of this problem. The boat is stock. Can the torque of the prop snap this part?

did you have the drive dog tight up to the strut?

I did not adjust from delivery but I will look. I assume it needs to have no slop?

That would be wrong you need some for when the flex spins up
