After the beeps hold full throttle for around 7/10 seconds
When the motor kicks in let go then you should be good to go
You need to do this each time you connect the lipos
I think the four wires are for conecting twin escs up

I got two new ones I haven't used yet
I read that they are a bit hit and miss
Work really well or fry on the first run
On 6s you need to keep a close eye on temps
What setup you running it with?

the plug with the 4 wires are for firmware updates only.
start at 5deg for timing and watch the temps closely.
see the attached latest FC instructions.
