First of all, this forum has helped me a lot, as this is my first FE boat. So thanks to all for sharing your knowledge.

I put together a R2 Hobbies godspeed cat, with a seaking 180 ESC & a Tacon (same as leopard 4074) - 2150 KV motor. It is powerd by 2 7.4 v batteries in series (Turnigy 5000s 45-90 Cs)

Before I go out I was curious as to what a good starting point for the timing would be. I'm starting out with the Graupner 42 dia x 59 pitch (similar to the X442) and I have a 45 x 63P (similar to the M445).

I put a lot of work into stuffing all of this in the hull & I do not want it to go poof as soon as I pull the trigger:Praying:

Which prop would be the bests to start with & what timing should I start at (I read a lot & think maybe 15 is a bit much ?)

Thanks,
Mike

Start with low timing and the smaller prop. Check temps and move up from there.

looks like my options are 0, 3.75, 7.5, 11.25 15 (default setting), and 18.75, 22.5 & 26.25
Thanks Stadi........

Would starting at 7.5 be safe, or should I go lower ?

How do I know if I'll need more timing ?

7.5 to 11.25 should be fine. I've never noticed a huge difference after raising the time, may be a mph or two but isn't worth the damage it may cause IMO.
