Hi Everyone,

I ordered this Promise Hobby 29 Cat on eBay June 1 and received it today. Great packaging. I am building it to race in P Offshore. The reason I selected it was for its wide (and hopefully more stable) foot print. It is 29" long and 13" wide. Sponson width from outside to outside is 8 1/2 inches. It is heavier weighing 3.2 lbs empty compared to my Skunkworks Cat that is 2.6 lbs. I would like some recommendations from you experienced Cat guys like Jay, Doby, Keith and Tony, on motor recommendations for P-Offshore consider this hull size and weight. I know I could do twins but I would be limited to 5,000 Mah Bats for each motor and I don't know if it would make through a 12 lap 4 minute race. I have a CC1515 2200 KV but I think it might be too small? So maybe a NEU 1527 2300kv 1D?

Here are some Photos.

I have either a Castle 240A or a FC 300 Amp ESC to put in it along with a FC 115mm offset rudder and strut.

I was able to complete this build in about a week. I decided on a OSE Leopard 4082 2200KV to start, Castle 240 ESC. FC 110mm offset rudder/strut. I did the CF with Max Clr epoxy and made the motor mount. The hull seams seemed a little suspect so I poured 2 part foam in the sponsons and front. The boat weighs exactly 6lbs RTR without batteries. My goal for this is P-Offshore so I wanted a stable, survivable in rough race water boat.
