You can be sure you will like this PS. I made one myself out of the same HP power supply. You can charge 4 5,000mah 2s lipo's at 2C (10 amps each) at one time with it. I run two single chargers and a dual off of this one PS. They are great. 47 amps is pretty darn beefy. Look at how much you would pay for a "name brand" PS of this kind of power.

LiPo Power

Just wondering why you chose this computer power supply over a standard atx, micro atx, etc? Is there something special about this one over others? Could you add two sets of dc power plugs to plug in two chargers? Is it Still $40 each shipped if I buy two?

I have a PowerLab 8 (v2) 1344W Multi-Chemistry Workstation, 40A paraboard, charging 4-6 5000mAh 4s lipos...I want to push it to the max.

Whats the setup?

LiPo Power
09-21-2012, 02:12 PM
If you like to push it to the max of its capabalities you need
24V and up power supply with minimum 40 amps or more to be
on the safe side.
1344W only at or above 24v....
At 12V your charger is 500W max..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFQ0c5iF38M

You need stronger power supply, like this:

disconnecting the power cord from the wall...

I have this charger and I love it....
I use one of my 12.6 Volt HP supply and this charger is working perfect
charging 2S or 4S 5000, 5800 mah lipos on the same time.
Also I do not charge my lipos with more than 10 amp each...
Now if you like to do just that, charge lipos with more than 10 amps each on the same time you need to input
close to 18 volt to your charger and for that you will need this one:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20611__Turnigy_1080W_100_120V_Power_Supply_13_8V _18V_60amp_.html
Hope this helps

Hi
The small black PSU is 24 Volt unit.
From what I can see your charger needs 12-15 volt input power.
In your case I would suggest:
HP DPS-600PB
HP DPs-700CB
Dell DPS-7000814
3 of them Perfect for your charger.
All are way over 500 Watts and over 47 Amps at over 12.5 volt.
Please let me know....

Hi,

I nedd a power supply to power this balancer/charger:

http://www.nitrorcx.com/75p-1220-charger.html

I believe I need a +300w and no more than 16v

Will the small black PSU unit pictured above work with my charger? If so, how much will it be?

Thx

DPS-1200PB, 24 Volt

Hello Robert,

What kind of warranty are you giving with the purchase of one of you PSU's?

I can consider exchange within 2-3 days from the date
of receiving as courtesy. Unit would have to be sent back
to me first.
Other than this I have no warranty.
If you like to get power supply
with warranty I would suggest you look into this

DPS-1200FB power supply is the most powerful I ever had. :thumbup1:
It is also the most compact unit out there, very quiet ( 8.0 or 9.5 long with the handle, 3.5 wide, 1.5 tall )
Perfect Compaq solution for 12 Volt, 900 Watts, 75 Amp power supply or in series for 24 Volt, 1800 Watts, 75 Amps clean and quiet superpower for all the hungry chargers out there.
Amazing!!!!

My powerlab8 crapped out on me...so I ordered a powerlab6 this time...made me realize I should have backup for PS as well.

I am charging 5S (1 at a time) at 20A(4C)...my batteries will allow me to input 40A (8C)(I have been a little afraid to do that so far)

Can you recommend a PS that will pump either the PL6 or PL8(once repaired).

Hey Everyone!

I ordered a new PS and it arrived today....

The first thing I noticed was the Handwriting on the package itself...

That is the handwriting of a person meticulous in everything he does...it gave me great confidence as I opened the package.

The PS itself is a work of beauty...if a PS could be beautiful.
http://i1076.photobucket.com/albums/w453/rcsurfdivas/kite/IMG_20130528_130702_zps4a2d825a.jpg

LiPo Power used some very nice connectors and wire, the tape job looked good, and the 2-into-1 power supply cord is top of the line.

I never really know where I will end up when heading out on a Surf Trip....so I needed a mobile charging station...so I mounted everything inside a wheeled Suitcase.

http://i1076.photobucket.com/albums/w453/rcsurfdivas/kite/IMG_20130528_175919_zps9e26ee83.jpg

I just wheel in to Starbucks, Fed Ex Office, this PS supply is so quiet I can even use it in a library, and recharge for another session in the Surf.

All in All, I am very happy with this new PS. I feel it is well worth the money spent. So, if you are on the fence on whether to buy one or not....do not hesitate...he will have you powered up in no time at all.

Hello Robert,

I received the PSU a couple of days ago but did not open the package up until last night. The unit got banged up during shipping on the corner closer to the cable inlet and I did not see a switch like you had told me it would have (am I looking in the right place?). The impact during shipping affected the outlet where the power cable connects so inserting the cable is tighter than it should be. Do you think the impact could have affected the operation of the PSU? I will post pictures later tonight when I get home.

Thank you

It is possible that I have shipped the unit without the on off switch instead of the one with it, my apologies... I will have solution for you for sure.
Regarding the unit that was damaged during delivery, please sent me pictures to the email I have sent you via PM so I can see it before you plug it in to the wall and will go from there.
Your package was prepared very well for a long trip. Was the damage of the box visible at the time of pick up from the post office?
Thanks
Robert

I've got a buddy interested in the 12V 75 amp unit. Can you PM me a price please? Thanks.

Ray
His units are made of DPS-600PB server power supply which is very popular and powerful power supply.
I also have and modify DPS-1200FB models that are half of the size of 600 and almost double the power, way more quiet and
so portable its crazy and that is the model Darin is getting.
Kapesh?

I met up with Robert yesterday to pickup a 24v 1800watt 75amp PS. Got it home and charged up a pair of 6s 5000mah packs, I charged each at 15amps and the PS didn't even beak a sweat. Great product Robert, I'll definitely recommend you to others looking for a PS.

Cheers

Yes but, he is always on and off. He called me on the weekend and asked me if I wanted to buy a wood rigger RTR for $400. Not like I run riggers or have anything near $400 to drop on a boat. Anyway, at least I've talked him out of buying an EFuel 60amp PS for $$$$$ and he is finally listening to me.
Him and I have the same charger and I run mine on your 47amp unit, he has finally come to the understanding that you don't need to spend a million $$$ on a PS if you aren't racing and even if you are, these work just fine.

Got my new single DPS-1200 and am very happy! I wanted something smaller and lighter then the one I currently have which I got from Robert 2-3 years ago now. Big difference in size! I also just happened to have some heat shrink that was a miss ship, as it was huge, which worked well for the PS. Bonus!

Any trade in value for the one I got from you a few years ago, it's in perfect shape? Not much outdoor use or total use...
