Lipo Shield with UBEC

I can't seem to find anything on how to set this up to run with a UBEC. Sea King 180a esc with hobbyking UBEC 3a. Does the Red wire from the ESC need to be plugged into the lipo shield with the red wire pulled on the lipo shield lead to the receiver? Or does it not matter. I've read that people are having some issues with the internal low voltage cutoff and this looks like a better way of running a low voltage cutoff. Kintec's have 3.3 volt cutoff installed.

Or is the Cell Shield a better option being that its adjustable. If thats the case, Would I run a 4s Y harness to connect both batteries balance plugs in parallel to the cell shield.
