I'm looking to buy a Geico/Mystic. I will be changing out the motor to the Proboat 2900Kv. My question is what handles better the inline rudder (Geico) or the offset rudder (Mystic)?

Thanks

I've had better luck with the Offset rudders, but there are those that are happy with the centered style as well. I think it boils down to getting the boat setup right.

Exactly which PB 2900KV motor are you referring to? If you are thinking of putting a WidowMaker 22 motor in there, you will quickly burn it up. It's not nearly enough motor for these boats.

I thought the 2900Kv was bigger. Is there an upgraded motor for the Mystic. I do have a Turnigy 120 esc I can use.

Nope... don't be fooled by just KV... the 2900KV motor from the WidowMaker is just a 2-Pole, and I believe it's also slot-less. WAY too much KV for 4S anyhow...

Frankly, I'd get either the Mystic or the MG, put in your ESC, then get a good prop on the boat. The motor can handle the amps (replace the contacts with 5.5's or larger)... Depends on what you want to do with it, but you can get a stock MG into the mid-40's pretty reliably on the stock motor with the right prop. Runtime, obviously, would be reduced...
