Looking for a prop upgrade and not sure the best one would be. Any advice would help.

Best to read in the mfg section specific section on the Miss Geico.

The Gieco prop is the same as they run on the BlackJack 26. 40mm by 63.5mm. To get away from the plastic always breaking props, you can run a Prather 215 stainless steel. I would also suggest you to run an Aquacraft 2030kv motor with an Octura x442 prop. The stock 45 amp Proboat esc will handle the 50 amp motor just fine, and the boat will run so much faster you won't regret it. If you want to stick with the 1500kv motor you could also run a Prather 220. These combo's have worked well for me. Rokcney

I've been running an X642 with the stock motor for a 18months and it's performed great. Stock motor on 5s goes 45mph with T-180 esc. Good luck and try not to be too aggressive with your choice. Here's a shot of my MG with that set up. Runs great for sport running.

Did you have to upgrade any cooling when you did the motor upgrade?

Shouldn't have to upgrade the esc for 4s with the x642 but my stock esc exploded on 5s with the x642. Letting the magic smoke out of the esc is not something you want to do. It really makes a mess of the inside and smell terrible forever. It always pays to spend 2 or 3 bucks and go to the larger diameter coolant lines and just cable tie them on tight.

No. I usually run a transom mounted water pick up, but the Gieco rudder with the through hole seems to work well. At present I'm running the T 180 esc, and a T****** 4074 2000kv 0n 4s and Prather 235 prop G.P.S. speed of 55 m.p.h. flat. 11.5 on the timing with stock cooling system. (long cooling jacket on motor) 2 5ooomah 45c batts. in series. Rokcney:smile: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/images/smilies/set1/001_smile.gif

I stunk up my BlackJack 26 with the 2030kv motor and a 42 by 55mm GR prop on 4s. It ran a long time with 20c batteries, as soon as I put in 40c's 90 seconds later the esc lost all it's smoke. It still stinks after 2 years. Rokcney

I'm going to have to try that motor on 5s. I didn't think it could handle it. Thanks Rokcney

i dont really think you would have to upgrade cooling if you keep it at 4s... i like x642 and m445, but just always a good idea to watch the temps and limit run times
