My turnigy esc always cuts out before the set low voltage detection iI have it setup in 4 cell 2.8 cutoff 15 timing and forward only. I am running 2 2s 6000 mah 35c 60c zippy hard case batteries with a stock aquacraft 1800kv motor 45m prop the temps on the batteries are 102 the esc 92 and the motor 100. Its strang because with the stock aquacraft esc it gets double the run time almost the same temps 2 or 3 degrees higher and the full 6000 mah and the same speed out of the packs any ideas oh the esc is running bec

the only thing i see wrong here is the timing being a little high for that motor that means higher temps more amp draw , try lower timing setting and give it a try , also you dont want to run those lipos until lvc kicks in your LIPOS WILL LOVE YOU IN THE LONG RUN

Thanks i will go down 11.25 and do a couple of runs then maybe 7.5 again thanks for the quick reply some times the basics are just not thought of

start at 3.25 timing and go up from there

Could be wrong but 15 deg for a that motor does not sound excessive. Especially considering the temps are good.
The fact you say you were putting 6000mah back into the packs with the standard esc makes me think the LVC was not working or set properly.you only want to use 80% of your battery capacity at maximum. so 4400mah.
How much are you putting back in using the t180. I have read the t180 can have lvc issues cutting out to early but you should not be putting 6000mah back into 6000mah packs.

This is a known thing on T180 & T120 that the lvc cuts in to soon even from the start of the run with fully charged batteries, most set with lvc turned off & it works fine then. You must time your runs though so as not to go to low on capacity.

I believe the Aquacraft motor uses 10degrees

11.25 or 15 depending on the prop load and temps, that is option 4 or 5 for timing.
Absolutely no point in starting out at lower timing with that motor.
Yep the stock esc is set at 10 degrees and is not adjustable.
Sounds like the typical LVC problem, you'll have to time your runs. No idea why Hobbywing will not fix the problem, guess no incentive as people just keep buying and accepting the fact that it doesn't work quite right.
They actually are a pretty good, cost effective esc just have to tolerate the typical chinese BS.
Think I'll be trying a Fightercat esc next time, everybody who has used them claims great results. Both hifei and hobbywing escs seem to have annoying little problems that really don't make them not work, just not quite work right.

Interesting :confused2: I've never had any problems with my T180 LVC . Got it set for 6S to match the batteries and it's always worked fine. Using twin 3S Turnegy 5000mAh 40-50C with a Leopard 4082 on a Genesis with M445 prop.

I've actually used two different T180 ESC's on this boat over the last 12 months, and both have been fine. (One has the extra caps on it)

I wonder why. Just lucky? Since at the sort of currents these systems pull, it only take a very small bit of additional resistance in the cables and connectors to drop the voltage a little (and prematurely set off the LVC) could it be a cable or connector problem - just a thought? FYI I always use Traxxas connectors for my batteries (legacy from my Traxxas Emaxx truck).
